These young people deliberately opted for schooling in a war zone. If they were Americans they had a choice and exercised it. We cannot protect them any more than forfeiting freedoms will protect us.

You seem to be conveniently ignoring the fact that the US is also now a "war zone". No doubt you believe that the people killed in the Los Angeles airport deserved it for having exercised their choice to go to an airport, when everybody with an ounce of common sense knows that airports are prime targets for terrorists. Ditto for high-rise buildings, national monuments, shopping malls, restaurants, trains, buses, universities, etc. etc. So, when are you moving to your bunker?

No one can take a dead man's rights away from him. I bet you would walk into the path of an oncoming car that obviously had no intention of stopping to exercise your "right of way."

"The US is a war zone". The Israeli students were not IN the US.

They were not sent out BY the US (as the MIA's were). They did not represent the US (as the MIA's did). I am desperately sorry for any young life that is killed so needlessly by anyone, for any reason but I am not willing to be outraged about this incident because I feel it is obligatory first to mourn and be outraged about the actions of our government(of the people, for the people, by the people) relative to Americans who fought and died (or may still live imprisoned) to maintain your freedom to support whomever you see fit (Arabs, Zionists, Chicoms, Russians etc.).

I wonder whether we can count on you to be outraged when Americans who are Muslims or Christians are killed by Israel? Or is the approved outrage only for Americans who are of some other stripe? Does your outrage extend to Messianic Jewish believers who are killed or do you, like the government of Israel consider them less than the approved others, not to be accorded all of the same rights?

I grieve for Jews (not American) whom my written checks helped to bring out of bondage into Israel whose lives were taken by the senselessness of this conflict. I grieve for those who were brought to "freedom" who haven't the freedom in Israel to worship the God of Abraham according to THEIR consciences without being seen as second-class.

As for moving to my shelter, I live within 3 miles of the Pentagon. There is no shelter which will avail. However, whatever the reason that holds me here, it is a choice. I will live or die by it.

When this area is hit I deeply suspect that the only outrage will be on behalf of the elites who were not in their prepared bunkers. Life will go on.

The only irreconcilable loss is that this beloved representative republic (The United States of America) will become more and more the democracy the media is convincing us we are. The people becoming subjects rather than citizens (like any other democracy) with fewer and fewer freedoms, little liberty with even more enormous injustices. All this in exchange for some imagined safety which no earthly person or group can guarantee.
