A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 8/1/02

President Bush was granted trade promotion authority today by the Senate, and later thanked them for working so hard on this issue. Bush also met with Jordan's King Abdullah and discussed the war on terror, the crisis in Israel, and future actions against Iraq. Although King Abdullah made it clear that an attack on Iraq could lead to unrest in the entire region, Bush made it clear that he would not change his mind regarding a regime change. On the lighter side, Bush signed the Nursing Reinvestment Act of 2002, which will create federal assistance programs for nursing students as well as support a public service campaign encouraging people to become nurses. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
To gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
He will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me on a high rock.....I am confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.......Psalm 27: 4,5...13,14
Still praying for you, lawgirl!

I know. Every time I hear his little voice, it's like chalk on a chalk board. In a very soft-spoken way, he makes absolutely no sense at all!
THAT's why we MUST defeat the dems in the House and Senate in November, and then watch his soft little voice wither off into the distance. --which IMHO is STILL too close!

I'm sure sorry that you have to deal with the stress of this latest update in your life, in addition to working on passing the bar.
Our prayers are with you!
Here's believing that you'll look back on this in a very short while, and say, "God has blessed me. I never would have been able to do _______ without _______ having happened to me."

Regarding the earlier concerns about the president's tie...
The presence of the unfortunate, polka-dotted neckwear got me to thinking. I thought to myself, "ReDub, that tie flew right out of the mid-eighties and wrapped itself around our president's neck. It is so unlike him to surrender to the forces of bad taste. Poor guy must have a lot on his mind."
I think he gets a pass and here's why: Today's abberation aside, our favorite chief executive has to date displayed impeccable taste in clothing. Whether he's on the ranch or in the White House, he always looks great. (In fact, tony fashion designers copied his famous ranch jacket that he wore so frequently during the recount...AND he singlehandedly ushered in the purple tie movement. Kudos to him.) I for one can't wait for his trip to Crawford so that we can get another look at his casual repetoire.
I just hope he keeps it up. In fact, I'd like to see him start incorporating suede into his wardrobe. After all, peace in the Middle East is always tenuous, but leather is forever.

Hey, justshe.....you were doing great on that Fast track thread!
Idiots look so much more, well......idiotic, when countered with actual facts! Good job!

Me too. It was music to my ears...too bad he had to be so bad, while making sense.

Too bad, so sad. *snort* *Cough cough* *wiping the A&W Root Beer from my nostrils* THAT IS HILARIOUS!
You guys are the best- I am a little discouraged and just weary about losing my job. I feel like God has really been testing us a lot lately and I am getting tired. Not angry or frustrated- I am still patient- but I'm just tired and ready to have a real life where we both have jobs and don't have to worry about money so much. And kitkat- that is a great point. Nothing bad lasts forever- especially with great people like you dosers around me!
