A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 8/1/02

President Bush was granted trade promotion authority today by the Senate, and later thanked them for working so hard on this issue. Bush also met with Jordan's King Abdullah and discussed the war on terror, the crisis in Israel, and future actions against Iraq. Although King Abdullah made it clear that an attack on Iraq could lead to unrest in the entire region, Bush made it clear that he would not change his mind regarding a regime change. On the lighter side, Bush signed the Nursing Reinvestment Act of 2002, which will create federal assistance programs for nursing students as well as support a public service campaign encouraging people to become nurses. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Prayer to God in time of trouble - we all need this!
Psalm 43
Prayer to God in Time of Trouble
1 Vindicate me, O God,
And plead my cause against an ungodly nation;
Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!
2For You are the God of my strength;
Why do You cast me off?
Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3Oh, send out Your light and Your truth!
Let them lead me;
Let them bring me to Your holy hill
And to Your tabernacle.
4Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;
And on the harp I will praise You,
O God, my God.
5Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.

What in the world do they find to admire about Traficant? His hair?

My only question is, why can't Torrecelli (sp?) meet the same fate at Traficant?...
(or worse)...did I say that??? ;-)

Welcome back - where are the storms??? We're both in MI, I believe.
We had tornado warnings Saturday night, I'm not ready for another trip to the basement quite so soon!
Taking my 85-year old Father down there was NOT fun.

I liked the firm and enthusiastic look to the Prince's hand, when he went to shake with W, didn't you?
They know the real story, and by their body language, I feel confident that whatever needs to be done, will be done, and the politics in Jordan will be handled, too.

I live in Cleveland area. I've heard Traficant talk his stick for years here. Youngstown was once a very corrupt area until the FBI came in and cleaned it up, and Traficant was part of that corruption. Some people will admire people based solely on the fact that they say what they want to hear. It's sad. I agree that Toricelli was corrupt, but Trafficant was worse (he made employees give him money from their paychecks). Toricelli will get his rewards and not be re-elected, I believe.

FWI, I haven't thanked you in a while for posting the Psalms. Much appreciated. Usually several verses strike me in a very personal way. Thank you.

Great pictures - thanks. Welcome back. The Senate giving the President trade authority is something I never thought we would see.
I think this coming month of Auguest needs to be an intense time of prayer for those who believe in praying - because the enemy will be hard at work.
God hears and answers prayers - and we need to also be confessing our national sins. Somehow the atrocity of partial birth abortion MUST BE BANNED! All standing in the way of that ban is Tom Daschle! Let's pray for all resistance to the ban of that atrocity to be dissolved!!! and the measure to be passed!!! It will take a miracle but we have seen these at work. Pray of course also for continued wisdom on Iraq (I hope they keep delaying it to give us time to rebuild) - and pray for the upcoming election - there is so much to do. OH, and for the economy - we are in deep trouble there apparently - and the Demrats are loving it! Pray for God's mercy in this economic hardship time. Thanks - and that is all. Nite!

Hi, mombonn. I hope someone takes my old bones down to the basement when necessary here in Toto country. I'm keeping my eye on the ball for your daughter on her way to the west. Chrissy should land in Frankfurt in about 4 hours.

I haven't read the Traficant threads since his sentencing, but it's amazing to me anybody would defend what he did. I take that back. X42 is a prime example of how low people will go to defend corruption.
