A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 8/1/02

President Bush was granted trade promotion authority today by the Senate, and later thanked them for working so hard on this issue. Bush also met with Jordan's King Abdullah and discussed the war on terror, the crisis in Israel, and future actions against Iraq. Although King Abdullah made it clear that an attack on Iraq could lead to unrest in the entire region, Bush made it clear that he would not change his mind regarding a regime change. On the lighter side, Bush signed the Nursing Reinvestment Act of 2002, which will create federal assistance programs for nursing students as well as support a public service campaign encouraging people to become nurses. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I'm thinking that W was thinking about what was in the news today that the Prince of Jordan does not support an attack on Iraq. King Abdullah, like his father before him will always be circumspect when speaking publicly about anything having to do with the Middle East. If I remember right, King Hussein did not publicly support the Gulf War, but didn't speak against it either. He is in an unusual position in that he is vulnerable to attack from terrorists if he supports America too much, but I believe he is supportive behind the scenes.
I think Dubya didn't want to have a smug look on his face during the public statements, so he put on his 'game face'.

From the latest issue of Runner's World magazine. I was gonna say look at the pecs and upper arms on the guy to Dubya's left (must be SS), but then I looked at Dubya's pecs and upper arms; yowsers he is in GOOD shape! (Not to mention those legs!! Woo Hoo!)

Let's hope that even though the Senate chose to give Toricelli a little slap on the hand, that the electorate is harder on him. There was an editorial in the NY Times today that just ROASTED the Torch! Considering that paper is widely read in NJ, it didn't do anything good for him, that's for sure!

I hope Runner's World is preparing a large printing of the issue with that picture! It may become a collector's item. ;^)

During a bad patch in my life, people kept saying, "There's a light at the end of the tunnel." Didn't help at all. Then a friend said, "Remember, NOTHING lasts forever, not even bad stuff." Cheered me up amazingly. Hope it works for you.
