U.S. civil rights leader Jesse Jackson cancelled a planned meeting with Hamas spiritual leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin after the Hamas claimed responsibility for Wednesday's terror attack at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Jackson was to go to Gaza to meet with Yassin after seeing Arafat in Ramallah, but in the wake of the bombing, the visit was canceled. Hamas officials said Jackson called off the trip.
Hamas spiritual leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin linked the bombing to Israel's air strike in Gaza last week that killed Hamas military commander Salah Shehadeh and 14 other people.
"When Israel bombs a civilian building full of women and children, and kills 15 people, this is the response they should expect," Yassin told AP Television News. "Today's Israeli government should bear responsibility."
Just before the attack, Arafat held a joint news conference with Jackson. Arafat said Palestinian authorities were "continuing our efforts, and will continue, from every aspect, to stop the violence."

I'm sure Jackson will talk to Hamas eventually. Hamas' call for "All Jews to Leave Israel" is something Jackson can agree with.

Perhaps Jesse has heard rumors that some folks suspect Hamas could possibly have some connection with terrorism?

I see, when the Israeli's accidentally kill civilians, they deserve to be punished, but when Palestinians KNOWINGLY target civilians, then they should not be? THat tells me ALL I need to know.
Israel has every right to defend themselves, and if civilians get killed, lifes that way when you allow terrorists to work out of your apartment building.
And Arafart, if you really like Jessie, would you be so kind as to keep his racist butt there?

Poor Jessie, they just won't cut him any slack. Bad timing. Now what Jessie? Why don't you hang around over there until it's safe for you to suck up to one of these terrorist types. Take your time. No rush. We'll get along fine without you for a bit. Don't forget to write when you get work, or someone will actually talk to you.

I think for once Jesse gave some consideration to the
*big* head.

I agree!
It's not like Hamas has been a Girl Scout group prior to this most recent bombing...
Further proof, that Jesse is either a damned fool, or has had his head up his ass for the past 20 years...actually, both are probably true.
Jesse demeans America and everything American --- yet, in any other country in the world - he would by now have been the victim of a car bomb or worse.

I didn't think so. Thanks friend! I rest my case.

"Right thing, my streisand. He's probably just afraid they'll target him since they didn't hestitate to bomb a place that has a lot of pro-Pali Israeli intellectuals." That's my take on it too. He's in 'Hymie' country now.

I believe I heard this this morning during the first news of the bombing in Israel. It was either on Fox or MSNBC, as I was switching back and forth.

This was about as good as the Syrian delegate to the UN speaking infront of said body stating that suicide bombings were permissible under international law.
(and no, he wasn't censored, Syria wasn't censored, zip, nada, nothing)

I wish the News Media quit calling him "Reverend". He has never earned a divinity degree. He just calls himself that!
