African-Americans take their case for reparations to the steps of City Hall (Houston)

HOUSTON (KHOU) -- Slavery was outlawed in America 137 years ago. But some African-Americans now want monetary compensation for years of slavery endured by their ancestors. A united group asked the Houston City Council for support.

They carried signs, waved flags and chanted loudly, "We are not here asking for anything," the group said. "We are demanding reparations."

This group of descendants of slaves is fighting for compensation that they say their ancestors never got.

"We are a people that have lost our culture," said activist Quannell X. "We have lost our religion. We have lost our mores and forays. We are a people that have been robbed."

"Reparations now" is their battle cry. It was aimed at the Houston City Council. They were asking members for their help, and reminded them symbolically just why they should. "Mothers and fathers, men and women, children hung from these ropes," said Quannell X. "How could you not support reparations?"

Mayor Lee Brown said that a resolution might be in order. "And that's what it's all about," he said. "To look at the issue and then come up with some determination as to what this country should do in respect to slavery."

But councilman Bruce Tatro disagreed. "I just believe it's inappropriate for the city to be weighing in on," he said. "A vote by the city means we support the entire reparations."

For the next generation it's a lesson for future legacies. African historian Alafia Gaidi explained, "There's a reason why millions of Africans who've come to this country before us was never able to leave any kind of inheritance for their children, they were never paid."

This local push is part of a national effort to support a Slave Reparations Bill recently introduced in Congress. Thousands plan to march on Washington on August 17 to lobby for the bill's passage.

Quannell X ...... Some of the Houston Freepers prolly can help here with more details... But Quannell X and his band marched on the 2000 Texas State GOP meeting in Houston with their weapons, humvees, etc. They shoved an elderly man down if I remember correctly. He lead a march at Hunstville prison the night of the execution of Gary Graham with his troops, combat uniforms and weapons..... He was in Jasper Texas during the Byrd events .....

He's with the New Black Panthers, NOI minister, etc. I looked and couldn't find anything on the net with just a quick search...

I have nothing better to do, so...
Jesse Jackson should be Shawasha...
Al Sharpton should be Shuakhwe...
Lee Brown should be Kwennoir.

What a bunch of sell-outs.

I remember that incident. And I remember wondering how many of the New Black Panthers were convicted felons and could have been arrested for even TOUCHING a firearm. You can bet that if the Aryan Nation or some other white group marched in public carrying guns, the BATF would have been videotaping the whole thing and would have swooped down on every firearm violation they could think of.

For more fun...

THE NAME GAME

The name game!

Shirley!
Shirley, Shirley bo Birley Bonana fanna fo Firley
Fee fy mo Mirley, Shirley!

Lincoln!
Lincoln, Lincoln bo Bincoln Bonana fanna fo Fincoln
Fee fy mo Mincoln, Lincoln!

Come on everybody!
I say now let's play a game
I betcha I can make a rhyme out of anybody's name
The first letter of the name, I treat it like it wasn't there
But a B or an F or an M will appear
And then I say bo add a B then I say the name and Bonana fanna and a
fo
And then I say the name again with an F very plain
and a fee fy and a mo
And then I say the name again with an M this time
and there isn't any name that I can't rhyme

Arnold!
Arnold, Arnold bo Barnold Bonana fanna fo Farnold
Fee fy mo Marnold Arnold!

But if the first two letters are ever the same,
I drop them both and say the name like
Bob, Bob drop the B's Bo ob
For Fred, Fred drop the F's Fo red
For Mary, Mary drop the M's Mo ary
That's the only rule that is contrary.

Okay? Now say Bo: Bo
Now Tony with a B: Bony
Then Bonana fanna fo: bonana fanna fo
Then you say the name again with an F very plain: Fony
Then a fee fy and a mo: fee fy mo
Then you say the name again with an M this time: Mony
And there isn't any name that you can't rhyme

Every body do Tony!
Pretty good, let's do Billy!
Very good, let's do Marsha!
A little trick with Nick!
The name game

Of course, when trying to collect one's inheritance, it also helps to know who one's daddy was.

I met a black woman today who is from Jamaica. She is here in the U.S. illegally and desparately does not want to leave the U.S. She is one of five siblings, all half-sisters from different fathers. She will probably be eligible for the upcoming "reparations" give-a-way.

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

Couldn't resist and had to type in demkicker, which translates to Mahamid. Must be terrorbonics!

Mayor Brown has his hatred because he was caught in a major police cheating scandal in Atlanta in the 80's. He was supplying black officer candidates with the answers to the tests to make sure they advance. After a humiliating demotion and re-testing of most of the force, he moved on to Houston after finishing the demoralization of the Atlanta force. His record there will be shining too as I see the emphasis of his administration there. Too bad Hillary's not President yet, he could easily be the new head of the FBI or Secretary of State.
