[history]
The "wascally wabbit," who's faced down Elmer Fudd, Marvin the Martian and Yosemite Sam, has come out on top again: According to the latest issue of TV Guide, Bugs Bunny is the greatest cartoon character of all time.
Bugs is also the only character from the pre-television animated-short golden age to make the magazine's top 10.

Watch where you're sticking that big toe, Flintstone.

Thank goodness there was a Mel Blanc, the greatest voice talent of them all. Thanks Mel for Bugs, Daffy, Foghorn, Yosemite Sam, Porky Pig, Barney Rubble, Sylvester and so many more. God rest your soul.......... Amen to that.

Noting cartoons along those lines: Mr Peabody and Sherman Fractured Fairy Tales
BUT THE ULTIMATE CARTOON WOULD HAVE TO BE "THE TICK".
SPOOOOOOONN !!!!

First attempt gave me the "red x" even though it looked okay in preview, so I repost just the image, and what happens? The previous attempt springs to life. Figures... (*sigh*)

What's this, Chumley? No Tennesee Tuxedo?!
NO TENNESEE TUXEDO?! What were they thinking?! The PowerPuff Girls and Ren & Stimpy make the list, but there's just no room for the lovable penguin and his toothy amigo? D*mn you, T.V. Guide!!!

Excellent!
Let's see.
Dudley Do Right
Commander McBragg
Johnny Quest
Space Ghost
The list goes on and on. A virtual blast from the past, un-PC cornucopia. :o)

Despite a very recent Spider Man movie, no Spider Man. I guess cartoon superheros such as Spider Man are considered comic book characters rather than cartoon characters.

Where's Droopy? Heckle and Jeckle? Jinx the cat?
To: Billthedrill
But "Gerald McBoingBoing?" Anyone who remembers him is way, way too old... (raises hand a bit sheepishly)
No 8th Man on the list either. Bummer.

That cartoon is one of my favorite Looney Toon shorts of all time. But it was called "The Great Piggy Bank Robbery." It was released in 1946. I have most of the dialogue from the short memorized (I've seen it that many times). You can get the details of the short at this page:
The Great Piggy Bank Robbery.
A while back, I was testing my Tv capture card and software, when the cartoon came on. I got captures of the most famous parts of the cartoon. Here are some of them:
Daffy Duck as Duck Twacy inspects one of the footprints in the bad guy's hangout after falling in a trap door.
After following the footprints up a wall, across the ceiling, and down another wall, Daffy discovers a rathole. He shouts "Come out of there, you rat!" He gets more than he bargained for.
Daffy scurries away into the darkness, but...
...he's not alone! The piggybank robbers have found him!
He's surrounded! (GASP!)
(These are only some of the villians)Snake Eyes!
Hammerhead!
Batman!
Daffy: "You're all under arrest!"
The villians: "GRRR!"
The chase begins!
(A) Flaptop launches his planes
(Eraserhead?)"I'm going to rub you out, see! Ruuuuuubbb you out!!
Under attack by Pumpkinhead and his tommy gun, Daffy gets ready to throw a grenade.
The aftermath: (pumpkin pie)
The gangsters rush Daffy and get stuck in the doorway. Daffy slips through them and out of their clutches.
Daffy fires Pumpkinhead's tommy gun at the villians.
The aftermath:
(Here's your favorite part) Neon Noodle: "Guess who?"
Daffy: "Neon Noodle?"
Daffy: "NEON NOODLE!?"
Daffy struggles with Neon Noodle, then...
Daffy: "TA DA!" (Neon Noodle is vanquished!)

Gilbert Shelton's strip is one of the funniest of all time but of course exceptionally politically incorrect to most conservatives because of the topics delineated. I loved them even though I've never used drugs. Shelton's stories were just too good, and the strip was never less than hilarious. Crumb's stuff was good, but he's now living in France. I've haven't read anything by him for years.

This NWO environazi crap that passes for children's entertainment these days bites the big one. Damned libersls want to steal your children's childhood and turn them into brainwashed little drones. Some great satire around though, much of it very politically incorrect. In particular, Animaniacs(WB), Pinky and the Brain (WB), Angry Beavers (Nick), and Johnny Bravo (Cartoon Network) are fun for the kids and give them that edge that good conservatives need to have these days. Animaniacs had a wonderful 2001 Space Oddessey parody that made fun of Algore by name. I loved it.
Of course, I only watch it because me kids do.

What absolutely kills me is this show that debuted in 61 and only ran for 30 episodes.
TC, Top Cat. One cool alley cat!

Cartoons are one thing, but what I want to know is what your lunchbox looked like?
To: Texaggie79
Beavis and ButtHead definately are definately awesome, but Johnny Bravo just cracks me up like nothing I've ever seen!
