The "wascally wabbit," who's faced down Elmer Fudd, Marvin the Martian and Yosemite Sam, has come out on top again: According to the latest issue of TV Guide, Bugs Bunny is the greatest cartoon character of all time.

Bugs is also the only character from the pre-television animated-short golden age to make the magazine's top 10.

"Where the heck is Dick Tracy?"

Use to love watching it when I was a kid. Unfortunately, we'll probably never see Dick Tracy, along with Go-Go-Gomez (Jr.), Joe-Jit-Su, Heepo-Calorie, Bee-Bee-Eyes and Flat-Top ever again -- thanks to the PC police.

Thank goodness there was a Mel Blanc, the greatest voice talent of them all. Thanks Mel for Bugs, Daffy, Foghorn, Yosemite Sam, Porky Pig, Barney Rubble, Sylvester and so many more. God rest your soul..........

I remember that episode, the Pebbles Is Born episode, as being the first program I ever saw in glorious color. On a neighbor's TV set! Oh, the reds and blues really knocked me out, little kid that I was.

I would like to give an honorable mention to a great comic strip character.

OK...I'll admit that Peanuts overstayed its welcome by at least a decade, but when it was good, nothing could touch it. Beavis and Butthead are the comic equivalent of "one hit wonders" in music, and have sunk into well-deserved oblivion in short order.

Among my other Bugs Bunny favorites:

Baseball Bugs
Rhapsody Rabbit
Falling Hare
What's Opera, Doc?
Herr meets Hare
and finally, because I am politically incorrect and proud of it,
Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips

My big three favorite Bugs episodes:

Rabbit of Seville - culture at its finest
Bully for Bugs - I think that bull was THE best one-episode character they ever came up with
Transylvania 6-5000 - "yada dadee dada dadeeda
Abracadaaaaabra..."

Forgot about Pete Puma. He'd be a close second.

My money's on "The Road Runner."

My wife of 42 years thinks I've gone off the deep end when I watch the coyote get hammered again and again and again!!!

I'm very surprised that none of the Jetsons made the list.
