The "wascally wabbit," who's faced down Elmer Fudd, Marvin the Martian and Yosemite Sam, has come out on top again: According to the latest issue of TV Guide, Bugs Bunny is the greatest cartoon character of all time.

Bugs is also the only character from the pre-television animated-short golden age to make the magazine's top 10.

How a political website can go over 100 responses about cartoons and not mention Pogo and Walt Kelly is beyond me...

Foghorn Leghorn used to crack me up until I became familiar with Fritz Hollings.

In Ocean City, MD there's a bar called Big Peckers whose logo looks like a discolored, unauthorized version of Foghorn Leghorn. I'm surprised they haven't heard from AOL TW's legal eagles by now.

I think that the list is refering mostly to animated characters, as opposed to those who mostly appeared in print comic strips.

Well, shoot, I couldn't find it - did Mr. Natural and the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers make the cut?

I have the whole collection.Even if you were never a pothead, they were still hillarious.I love the one where Fat Freddy goes to the draftboard stoned and tries every trick in the book avoid the draft and fails and Freewheelin Franklin would always give him the money to score some weed and yells "And don't get burned this time"

Ocean City, MD. Now there's a name that brings back some memories.

I worked at Phillips Seafood Restaurant on 21st? St. the summer of 78. Damn cute waitresses as I recall. Life as a cook was good for awhile.

WHat? NO Droopy?????? The genius of Tex Avery is somehow blatantly missing from this list.

And also my personal faves: The Mighty Heroes!

Strong Man, Diaper Man, Cuckoo Man, Rope Man and Tornado Man!

Actually, completely bogus.

Where is Spike Spiegel? Where is Faye Valentine, Jet Black, or Radical Edward?

As they say in Japan...

"3, 2, 1, ...Let's Jam!"

And who could forget Belldandy, Urd, and Skuld, the Three Megami?

I mean, don't get me wrong. I love Bugs. I really do. But I do have my priorities....

Be Seeing You,

Chris
