WOW, today is my FOUR YEAR ANNIVERSARY at Free Republic !
Posted on 07/30/2002 10:46:56 AM PDT by 1Old Pro
1Old Pro signed up 1998-07-30.
I registered on Free Republic 4 years ago today, and that was after lurking for 6 months or so.
Free Republic remains the top internet site for news and opinion. I haven't become bored with it, I haven't found anything better, and I am still addicted.
The Free Republic forum is an incredible and valuable source of news, information, links, and the posters (by and large) are knowledgable and entertaining. Here's to another 4 years ( of George Bush and Free Republic)

You mean after 4 years you haven't gotten tired of threads being yanked for no reason; people being banned for no reason; drinking the Bush flavored kool-aid; wearing your tin foil cap too tightly; and the other numerous reasons FRILLIONS of old timers like you and me are leaving here in mass exodus style???< /sarcasm >
Me either 1OP!!!
Congrats!!!

As a fellow member of the class of '98 (October, in my case), congrats. And they said you wouldn't make it, eh??????

I registered 4 months before you. Freeper number #3218. You are #7621. That is explosive growth for a political forum.Shows how needed FR was and is. What are we up to now? 85,000+?

people being banned for no reason; That happened to me in early 1998, but I reformed quickly and created a new/current screen name.

I remember when you had to post in "1"s and "0"s. That was back on the Prodigy Political BB back in the early 90's.

LOL, I remember someone once showing us how you could actually get a "number" on a poster based on registration date. In other words, you could have been the 100th person to sign up, or something like that. If you put the cursor over the poster's name without clicking, the # will show near the bottom left of the IE browser screen, but not in "full screen" mode, which is F11. I don't know about other browsers, though. Try it!

A fellow alum of '98 (March). I remember when this site was the premier place to come and exchange news and opinions among Conservatives. Sigh!

What are we up to now? 85,000+? Somewhere around there, but probably half of the names are abandoned, or inactive.
To: LarryLied
And the fact that so many of us are still around indicates that this forum could be timeless. Thanks to the Robinsons.
