About 150 searchers fought stormy weather to look for a 4-year-old Pecos boy Monday evening after he was reported missing. Schyler Lee Fain was last seen a little before 11 a.m., Department of Public Safety officials said. He was in the care of his grandmother. Fort Stockton police, Pecos County Sheriffs deputies, DPS troopers, a DPS seargent and a DPS helicopter all helped in the search for the missing boy. Fain was last known to be wearing a Navy blue Nike T-shirt with white letters and a red Nike Swoosh and underwear. The boy was believed to be barefooted. Officials were still searching for the boy at 10 p.m. Monday.

Got a call about this from a friend in Fort Stockton. She told me that they had helicopters and folks from the local prison helping in the search. That is, till the rain started. They got a real gully-washer (about 2 inches) late yesterday evening. Two different concerns: 1. If the child wandered off. There are a number of pits, and tanks he could have crawled/fallen into. 2. Dad had a business trip to El Paso yesterday. Has not been contacted yet. Some are hoping that he picked up the child from mom's house and took with him to EP without permission. He is considered spiteful after a bad divorce but not thought to be willing to harm his child.

Is this Pecos, Texas, or Pecos, New Mexico?
Prayers going out regardless of location though! Hope he is found very soon..

Pecos Texas but not far from the New Mexico border.. I grew up in Kermit about 60 miles away. Still have family and friends all over the area.
I really hope his father decided to be a turd to his mom by taking the kid to El Paso with him. I learned from a friend who was one of the searchers last night that the dad would fit such a profile. If the boy is with his father, he is not thought to be in danger. The guy has a decent job that required the road trip. He is expected to come back, just hope he has the little one. If he does have him, dad may be in some well deserved danger if momma gets her hands on him.

Hey there, I was born in Kermit (1958) and my parents went to high school there. My mothers maiden name was "Harris".
Not often you see another from those parts.

What is the truth on this case? Why so little about it after all these days? The other thread has very little either.

I guess maybe because this was a boy, not a girl. Just a theory !!
