"Quinn said she is open to the idea of allowing up to 82 players, but won’t open a third room because she wants to hold other activities, such as ceramics and crafts, there in an bid to draw more people to the center."

Pop quiz: What is the fault in Miss Quinn's logic?

seniors used to show up at 8:30 a.m. to claim tables for the 1 p.m. game

These folks really need to get a life.

Once again the hideous head of State Tyranny is raised to oppress the downtrodden masses.

Quinn, a geriatric social worker who lives in Easton

Why am I not surprised? A professional busybody, social engineer type who thinks she can run everybody’s life better than they can.

I just wonder if this council on aging is elected by the seniors that it supposedly serves.

A word to the wise: NEVER get between a blue hair and her BINGO seat.

These dad-blasted seniors don't know what is good for them. This nice lady knows it is not good for them to start gathering and chatting for an hour before the bingo game starts. And to think they know better than the social director what they wish to do. This malicious streak of independence has to be crushed before it gets out of hand. Who do these people think they are anyway?

I went to one of these once with a friend's grandmother. The blue haired lady next to me helped me keep up. I kept missing numbers and she covered them for me. She had 3 times as many cards as I had.

These people are professionals, and this woman messing with their recreation is the one who needs to get a life. These people are not interested in ceramics, they want to play BINGO! Well, she should let them play BINGO!

I say let the old farts set up their own game in their own places and get their own prizes. Let us see if they have rules!

It's the fumes from those gigantic bingo sheet marker pens!

Now you know why the politicians are so deathly afraid of reforming social security: roving bands of elders with solvent softened brains and an attitude!!!

Reminds me of the old Monty Python skit with the gangs of old ladies.........

This social director doesn't know what's good for herself. Anyone who is foolish enough to get in the way of a rampaging seniors bingo mob is not playing with a full card.

Man, I read that title as:

"Belligerent Banjo Players Ravage Quiet Town"

The visual was amazing...

Dueling banjos everywhere.

Council on aging director Christine Quinn, four months on the job, told selectmen in a letter that the Tuesday afternoon bingo crowd at the town’s senior center has grown ‘‘increasingly unmanageable and intimidating’’ and the situation is ‘‘potentially unsafe’’ in the wake of her new rules.

This petty tyrant has New Manager Syndrome. I see it where I work all the time. A new manager is placed in a position and immediately sets out to reorganize his little fiefdom. Never really takes the time to find out how things work or consult with those who have worked there for years and understand the true strengths and weaknesses of the system as it exist.

These newly minted Lords of All They Survey simply run rough shod over everyone and demand that things will be done their way or there will be H*ll to Pay.

Quinn, a geriatric social worker who lives in Easton, said the exchange is indicative of some of the verbal abuse heaped on her since the new rules....

....‘‘The crowd was so unruly. I couldn’t even control them. I was trying to control a group of 90 irate elders,’’ she said.

Just imagine, a 'social worker' trying to control people. Whoever heard of such a thing. /sarcasm off

I feel really sorry for these poor seniors - having to choose between prescription drugs and Bingo. Oh, the humanity.

Are they not adults? Do they not pay taxes making this their center?

What a Twit!
