In all fairness, the "homeless man" was the mother's friend's brother. He was a transient, which I guess means he mooched off his friends and relatives. It's not like they found him picking through garbage cans and invited him home.

A friend of mine in NH used to be a case worker for pedophiles..a so called "work program" that kept them out of jail but highly supervised. My friend told me they CANNOT be rehabilitated. She said many (not all) of the molesters were low IQ, and that sexually they are "severly" stunted/immature, which makes them see OTHER children as "sexual equals".

believe me, being in the fifth year of stepfatherdom, i can relate.

these two were well on the way to what you described when i came on the scene,
but there must be something about the look in my eyes at 'those times'
that they know intuitively means 'not another millimeter'.

dunno what it's like in the socialist republic of washington,
but here in PA, neither spanks nor slaps are (yet) illegal.

i've never had to lay a hand on either of them.
i just believe they understand that i can handle the couple days in jail
that it would take to get things sorted out, and that when i got home,
