I read a very similar article by Cal Thomas almost 8 years ago, and that is when I decided to homeschool.

Thomas said the same thing, the only way to effect change is to pull the kids out and then the system will collapse and have to be reinvented, hopefully for the better.

Either way, the responsibility of the parent is to see that their child is not subjected to the garbage that is being spewed in the public education system.

I liken the public school system to the city dump. Letting my kid play in the city dump will sicken his body, exposing him to the pollution of the public education system will sicken his young mind.
