I think that a lot of O'Neil's time and energy has been devoted to dealing with trying to sniff out the funding for Al Qaida & Co. ..... and, IMO, in the long run, that's more important. That affects the lives of all of us ..... and I mean as in life and death, not our stock market investments.

Ok, there's a simplified explaination of why Wall Street doesn't like O'Neil.

Forget about weak/strong dollar argument, I sure you've heard currency traders, currency arbitrageurs are what we called "market catalyst" for stock market, Forex markets are now engaged in real-time cross-arbitrage trading, which means predictability is the single most important factor for cross-arbitrage deals to act as stability force for an un-stable stock market.

O'Neil's last-minute actions(unpredictability) and his lack of coherent dollar policy are like mortal enemy to forex arbitrageurs, especially for those small-spread currency repo market.

I can go on for hours on this, but I don't think this is the topic that will appeal to too many of you here, LOL.

I suspect that you're shooting the messenger. We've been living on cooked books (corrupt government statistics and unsound financing practices, e.g.) and fiat money and an excessively strong dollar for a while now. For Clinton, the economy was one more opportunity for scoring politically. Hangover time.

Reality is making a visit.

I would dearly like reality to take a vacation in the next 3 months or so, just long enough for the Republicans to get the Senate back.

But I'm not optimistic about this decade's economy.

No, it stands for dollar repurchase agreement. Currency arbitraguers will hold(borrow) dollars for couple minutes to make spread, thus, changing market(equity/debt/forex/derivative) dynamics.

Okay, thanks for the explanation but I haven't a clue what you are saying. I guess my lack of knowledge about currency trading is showing. LOL!

That's ok, most people don't get this stuff. I'm just trying to point out his problems with markets in general(traders/bankers/brokers...) not to demonize him.

Rubin is slicker than Slick Willy. Every time that he was forced to appear before Congress, he ate their lunch — and they kept calling him back.

I'll admit I am no expert in this area .. but if I recall some in the finance area/field never did like O'Neil ..

And I'm sorry .. I still don't think Rubin did a better job .. Rubin is a crook and a snake

Actually, you need a highly technical arbitraguer to make full explaination for you, anybody short of that probably is not going to work. I can't even explain it to my sister and she's a follow MBA graduate, she thinks I talk in gobbled language! Anyway, I'm not directly engaged in forex arbitrage, I'm on the investment banking side - CROOKS, LOL!

"Leave all your worries and pains to the Lord and He will help."

Thanks for that advice, olliemb. Glad to know you are feeling better. I am learning the reality of your advice every day, too.

Thanks for the Sunday Daily Dose, rintense. The pictures today couldn't be cuter (those 2 little boys, especially!)

I hope every Doser will find a way to "Go Active" this week for the elections this fall.

Some of us feel all beat down to a pulp - but that's because our oppressors want us to be so.

But the Lord God is on our side - and He will hold us up when we think we cannot stand. This fall's election is in His hands - but WE are His hands and his feet and we must "get active"....and NOW, not later.

End of pep talk. More later. Psalm coming. Thanks, again, rintense and all. Great comments and great dose!

Posting the Psalm of the day to all you Dosers. If you don't want to be "pinged" for the Psalm, just Freepmail me. God bless all today.
Psalm 36

Man's Wickedness and God's Perfections

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD.
1 An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked:

        There is no fear of God before his eyes.
        2For he flatters himself in his own eyes,
        When he finds out his iniquity and when he hates.
        3The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit;
        He has ceased to be wise and to do good.
        4He devises wickedness on his bed;
        He sets himself in a way that is not good;
        He does not abhor evil.

        5Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens;
        Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
        6Your righteousness is like the great mountains;
        Your judgments are a great deep;
        O LORD, You preserve man and beast.

        7How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
        Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.
        8They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house,
        And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.
        9For with You is the fountain of life;
        In Your light we see light.

        10Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You,
        And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.
        11Let not the foot of pride come against me,
        And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
        12There the workers of iniquity have fallen;
        They have been cast down and are not able to rise.
