An article published in the May'02 issue of The Atlantic Monthly contends that persons of European extraction are descended from Mohammed.
The teaser reads: The mathematical study of genealogy indicates that everyone in the world is descended from Nefertiti and Confucius, and everyone of European ancestry is descended from Muhammad and Charlemagne

Half of my lineage descends from the original followers of Moses who brought law and religion from the cradle of civilization.
The other half descends from Pictish wildmen who painted their naked bodies with blue mud and lived in trees.
I'm proud of both of elements.

All of them, except for the one decended from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

I don't think the timing would be right for that. Mohammed wasn't born till pretty much later and there were people already in Europe that whites descended from.

YES , it is true that man descended from Mohammed. And I am Ma -ham -head if I believe it.

Yes, and I seem to recall an effort by some statisticans in late 90's to argue that Tiger Woods was stastically asian somehow. I suspect what these things really indicate is a desperate lack of credible research projects for graduate students.

My family name was traced back to 1066AD

Interesting article. I don't know if it makes sense or not, I'm not much on genealogy, but I sent it to a fried of mine who is, to see what she thinks.

Unlikely. None of my family are that stupid, and I'd extend that statement to in-laws, possibly excepting exactly one.
