Stupid, impolitic remarks.

Plus every Every meeting like this should be turned around, asking the questioners what they are doing to help stop and search out potential terrorists. Watch if they cringe.

"Hamad said he felt insulted by some of the commission's remarks"

I'm insulted by Hamad taking a statement out of context and turning prissy over it.

Is the Detroit Free Press going to write an article about me now?

Sometimes truth hurts. The people of this country will not stand for further attacks by those from the Middle East. I think it was prudent warning.

The president has said that ours is a war against evil and extremists and that the teachings of Islam are the teachings of peace and good."

Bush is still in total denial of reality mode, and would prefer to see all Americans subject to police state controls than to simply focus on the enemy among us.

Radical Islam is an insane murder cult, and "moderate" Islam is its Trojan Horse in the West.

"They had their own political agenda," said Kary Moss, executive director of the Michigan chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, referring to Braceras and Kirsanow.

Meanwhile, Ms. Moss's ACLU will do everything in its power to see that Americans are as vulnerable to terrorist attacks as possible.

After the meeting, Hamad said he felt insulted by some of the commission's remarks.

Hey Mr. Hamad, too bad you felt insulted by it...maybe you should talk to your pals over in the house of Saud, not to do this crap for long ,otherwise there will be no "Mecca and/or Medina" to bent over anymore!!!!!!

and that the teachings of Islam are the teachings of peace and good

These are words from 'advisers'. Anyone who reads the koran and hadith can see that the use of violence against unbelievers, people the the Book and even muslims rejecting islam is all over the place. And every day they demonstate that in practice.

A member of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission said in Detroit on Friday he could foresee a scenario in which the public would demand internment camps for ArabAmericans if Arab terrorists strike again in this country.

I can imagine a scenario where the Arabs in America beg to be placed in government-protected camps.

Actually, I think Mr. Kirsanow's analysis is correct. Imagine the reaction to a bioterrorism attack...with, say, 10,000 men, women, and children dead. Or to a radiological attack, with a few thousand casualties. At some point, the public reaction would be well nigh impossible to contain...

The reason, he said, is that "the public would be less concerned about any perceived erosion of civil liberties than they are about protecting their own lives."

Simple common sense.
Being an absolutist about civil rights always leads to extinction. That's not a problem when practiced on an individual level.

No rational mature society would practice it at national level. That would be a contradiction in terms.

Civil rights for repeat criminals? Stupidity.
For perverts? Stupidity.
For children? Stupidity.
For foreigners with alien destructive primitive cultures? Stupidity.

Doesn't take a lot of thinking for a truly educated person (non ignorant) to see the inevitable perversion and degradation resulting from each. It's not rocket science.
Not surprisingly, in a society where obligations are demanded as easily as rights are, this never becomes an issue; or a problem.

Spare me the moronic comparison to the Taliban. Free and responsible non brutal societies have existed for thousands of years, and become extinct when freedom became licence.

Institutionalized "compassion" by the terminally ignorant and clueless is always the first step.

All we need to do to become part of the problem, even if we are good people ourselves, is to remain aloof and give the idiots making the rules free rein.

"It's becoming really ugly," said Imad Hamad, regional director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, during his testimony.

There can never be an accomodation between modern civilized man and Islam so long as we can not even agree on the definition of "ugly".
For us the definition of "ugly" is an Islamic country; any Islamic country where the religion and the state are indisguishable.

How can we even have a dialog with a society (I don't care how large it is) that doesn't have a concept of "democracy" in any form?
Or can grasp the concept of individual rights?

I for one, don't even want to bother.
Just slap them down as often as necessary until the mere thought of wanting to strike out is painful to them.

If there's another attack by Arabs on U.S. soil, "not too many people will be crying in their beer if there are more detentions, more stops, more profiling," Kirsanow said.

Right on!!!!!!!!

This is a very smart comment IMHO. These folk need to know that if there is one more attack they will pay. They can weed the terrorists out of their own community if they want to. Maybe this gives them an incentive.
