He might have 30 minutes under the house rules, but is there any rule that says the speech must be broadcast? Is there also a rule as to whether the speech becomes part of the congressional record? Is there a rule that says other members must attend, or is there a chance Jim will be speaking to an empty floor? Wouldn't that be something if daschle could keep every democrat out of the house for just that one day.
Jim will be painted to look like he is crying over spilled milk. It is truly sad that he didn't step forward before he was even charged. The time to root out corruption is when you find it.

1. C-SPAN is required, by agreement with the House, to broadcast every minute of House activity.
2. Anything said on the floor of the House becomes part of the Congressional Record.
3. House members can attend or not attend. It's their choice.
4. Daschle runs the Senate. The House is controlled by the Republicans.

"He might have 30 minutes under the house rules, but is there any rule that says the speech must be broadcast?"This is Traficant. He'll write a "tell all" book if he gets canned.

Heck...even if the CSPAN
didn't cover it (although they have to) the
PRESS would.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry about this request from Limbaugh...everyone in the freaking country must think Traficant is a lunatic.

The time to root out corruption is when you find it. Yes, but you're talking about James Traficant here.

I believe C-SPAN is obliged to cover everything that occurs on the House floor while it is in session. And anything C-SPAN broadcasts, they sell videotapes of.

Good point. If you're going to "load a tape", better set the VCR for C-SPAN. That's the only channel that will air it. Count on it.
