America's number one talk radio host Rush Limbaugh urged Rep. James Traficant, D-Ohio, on Friday to deliver a "farewell expose" on his fellow Democrats before they vote to expel him from the House on corruption charges next week.
"Congressman, I know you're out there," Limbaugh told his audience. "I would love to hear you deliver a farewell expose, if you will, on the floor of the House, blowing the whistle on all the Democrats who stood behind Clinton and Condit but aren't standing behind you."
The conservative talker said Traficant's bribery conviction paled next to the crimes of the Clinton administration.
"We have a president who was convicted of perjury, lying before a federal judge," he complained. "We had a guy who was perhaps giving nuclear secrets to the Chinese, breaking all kinds of campaign finance laws."
Back then, Limbaugh reminded, senators said they acquitted Clinton because removing him from office would have been "overturning the will of the people." Democrat leaders Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt made much the same argument for their decision not to force Rep. Gary Condit, D-Calif., to resign last year over the Chandra Levy cover-up.
Under House rules, Traficant will have 30 minutes to address his colleagues before any expulsion vote.
"He's promised one hell of a show on the floor of the House," said Limbaugh. "And what he's done so far probably is nothing compared to what he's going to do."
Two years ago, Traficant accused former Attorney General Janet Reno of treason, telling Fox News Channel that the Clintons chose her for the job because she has a sordid past that made her easy to blackmail.

hehehe You're welcomed.

Whenever Democrats in South Carolina need a little help in the polls ,they switch to the GOP. Wonder if that would also happen nationally if JT had any impact with his speech?Kind of like fleas jumping from one dog to another with a bath is imminent.

Fess up. Which network do you write for? :) Love it! It would not make any difference. All of the networks have the same world view and think alike.
You should see my mail this morning. There are several idiots that did not understand that the comment was satire and knee jerked their little hearts out. I hate to have to put a "/satire" tag on things. Oh well, the Democrats do not have a monopoly on stupid.

Now this is must see TV! No way is the media going to televise this
just in case Trafficant does take Limbaughs advice. More likely there wont be any expulsion vote, and therefore no address.

More likely there wont be any expulsion vote, and therefore no address. More likely yet, he'll get time for his address and the well microphone will inexplicably go dead. CSPAN will be told that the House has adjourned for the day. The vote will take place at 2 AM that night.

He is crazier than a loon, and yet he said a lot of things that are true, and that other politicians seem to be afraid to say.He remains true to character - some of his two minute speeches on the House floor have been priceless. "Beam me up Scotty!"

Yes he is...

The House Ethics Committee voted unanimously to expel Traficant. He had 30 minutes to rebut on Thursday, on CSPAN. He called out committee members by name, to their faces. Ohioan LaTourette, a former prosecutor, was unable to look Traficant in the face as he outlined serious charges of prosecutorial misconduct.
Stephanie Tubbs Jones, also a former prosecutor, from Cleveland, where Traficant's federal trial was held sat frozen, like a statue of The Great Toad Queen...she KNOWS the trial was a set up and she knows Traficant knows she knows. (News today, a key prosecution witness admitted publically that the FBI intimidated him into giving false testimony.)
By the end of his 30 minutes he may not have persuaded the committee to stay their recommendation until his legal appeals have been heard...but he took the FBI, the committee aand Congress as a whole to the woodshed like these pompous asses never heard before.
His basic message was, "If you can do this to me think how badly you are screwing Joe Sixpack."
He told them, "The average American fears their government, and that turns into distrust, and distrust turns into hatred." He said, "When the citizens start to hate you (gov) then you better watch out!" Then he said, "I hate this government but I love my country." If he gets to speak before the whole House it will be one for the books.
(Addendum: he blamed clinton/Reno by name for coming after him for political payback and mentioned the cover up of the Chinese money.)

Traficant was actually a substitute host for a couple days on talk radio in Cleveland a couple years ago...talked about his case, took calls, was witty, very entertaining.

Depend on Catspaw and his Ilk to attack anything that does not echo Liberalism. I have been a victim of his distortions. If nothing else Traficant is Anti-Democrat party and this gains my support.

Bump for Traficant! I hope he does "tell all"!
To: IronJack
Traficant "should be persecuted?" Why?
Style points?
Do you know what he has been "convicted" of, and how it stacks up next to the average run o'the mill Congressman?
To: AmishDude
One thing Traficant obviously knows is who pressured him to vote against impeachment, and how. Why shouldn't he make that information public now? What does he have to lose?
To: Brad C.
I believe C-SPAN is obliged to cover everything that occurs on the House floor while it is in session. And anything C-SPAN broadcasts, they sell videotapes of.
To: hinckley buzzard
Traficant "should be persecuted?" Why? Uh, because he's a criminal, among other things? How about because he's an idiot? How about because he's an embarrassment to our whole notion of competent governance? How about because he's an overweight goon with an over-inflated ego and little to justify it?
And yes, I'm familiar with the 9 charges out of 10 on which he was convicted in Federal Court in Ohio. It's fascinating to me that so many people defend this buffoon just because he's occasionally proven useful to the Republicans. If he's the best we can do for an ally, this is a fight better conducted alone.

If nothing else Traficant is Anti-Democrat party and this gains my support. He's an "anti-Democrat?" Why'd he vote NOT to impeach Clinton? He voted NO on all four impeachment articles. Is that a conservative?
I await your explanation.

I think RUSH will miss Traficant's rants and raves. Rush always gave Traficant plenty of air time when he was waxing against the demo's.
