Arrest made, my family is jumping for joy. Of course, if this is the guy, he should be hanged. He should be hanged, but perhaps we do not have the guts to do that anymore than we have the guts to protect our borders which allow terrorists in and allow murderers escape. But this one perhaps didn't escape this time. The Middle American News for July, 2002, is reporting a new baby-snatching scam in Florida that sounds scarily familiar to other reports across several Western states that the phony liberal news refuses to cover, and thus no "mainstream" newspapers have news items to back up these scary events, but there are reports now, in this case in Florida, of well-dressed Spanish-speaking men impersonating state welfare workers who show up at the homes of new mothers (as if indicating they have access to some information, perhaps state or government information regarding Hispanic newborns, though reports are not isolated to only Hispanic newborns). Speaking in Spanish, they tell the mother they need to take the children for "medical tests" due to "health concerns". There may be no connection to the next question I am about to ask, but it seems that children are being snatched right off the streets of America (in many cases raped then murdered) in numbers that seem to be unprecedented, that seem to reflect a sick moral demise in American culture, and I would like to ask what role has our social institutions of government, what role our public schools, have played in this demise, and I would like to ask if there are any numbers as to such monstrous events linked statistically to illegal aliens committing such horrors? Would we even be allowed to know, if such were the case, or are we only allowed to know certain high profile cases, perhaps only those that do not involve illegal aliens? Perhaps it's illegal to even gather such statistics, or would that be a hate crime to ask such a question? - perhaps the Bush Administration would object as not being very P.C. considering how very important the Hispanic vote is to Bush, even more important than national security.

The freaks mother says he has no prior criminal record. Not yet confirmed by police.

I understand he was acquitted of molesting his girlfriend's daughter a while back.

Can you just tell the difference between the attitudes of these blue-eyed blond hang-gliders, looked about 18 to me, and these perps! Shows not all males are evil, and suggests we need more of US, and less of THEM in America.

Shame on you! Just how do you know what the Hang-gliders look like? Number two, You in your blond hair blue eye statement descried Jeff Dahmer.

That 911 Tape had me in tears, I pray for ALL Victims involved, horrendous crime, heartbreaking!!

I'm impressed by the 5 year old who was able to provide enough information to track down a killer.

While it does look like this may be the perp, there is still a chance this isn't the guy. We should be somewhat careful about thinking this is the guy for sure. The sheriff stated the investigation in this and other individuals is ongoing.

Man Arrested in Samantha Runnion Killing
alt BREAKING NEWS
alt The hunt for the killer of 5-year-old Samantha Runnion was
reported to be focussed today on a 27-year-old man who lives in an apartment
complex in Lake Elsinore. alt
LAKE ELSINORE — Alejandro Avila, 27, was arrested after search warrants were served overnight at an apartment complex near Lake Elsinore in Riverside County, not far from where the girl's body was found Tuesday near Highway 74, a route connecting the two counties.

Carona said he would release no more details about the arrest until a 6 p.m. press conference.

alt Police Search Suspect's Home "I think it's safe to say that we've narrowed our field of investigation to several people, and that this puzzle is coming together and every minute we're getting closer to solving this crime," Carona said during an interview Friday on the "Today" show.

The girl and a 5-year-old friend were playing only about 150 feet from Samantha's front door in a complex of Stanton townhomes Monday evening when a man drove up in a two-door light green Honda or Acura after making a U-turn. The man got out and asked for help finding his puppy, then took off with the kicking and screaming girl.

DETECTIVES ARE STILL TAKING TIPS - THE 24-HOUR HOTLINE IS 714 890-4280.

The announcement was made after Riverside County Sheriff-elect Bob Doyle released a 911 tape of a male caller reporting finding the body on a rural highway. The caller told the operator in at least two calls that he was scared and was going home and would call back.

"Hey, can I go to my house I'm really nervous right now," the caller said at one point on the tape, which was edited at various points.

"We're gonna go 'cause I'm really scared now," he said.

"I'm so scared. It was a little kid," he said.

"I'm freaking out," he said.

The arrest came during an extensive dragnet following Samantha's abduction.

The girl and a 5-year-old friend were playing only about 150 feet from Samantha's front door in a complex of Stanton townhomes Monday evening when a man drove up in a two-door light green car after making a U-turn. The man got out and asked for help finding his puppy, then took off with the kicking and screaming girl.

Samantha's nude body was discovered Tuesday afternoon along Highway 74 on the edge of the Cleveland National Forest, about 50 miles from Stanton.

An autopsy revealed the girl was alive for several hours after she was snatched and was killed sometime Tuesday by asphyxiation.

Carona said earlier that warrants were served at four locations, including an apartment complex near Lake Elsinore, and at a business in Temecula.

Adelina Avila said her Lake Elsinore apartment was searched by authorities late Thursday and her 27-year-old son was being detained. She said her son was taken in early Thursday for questioning and she was able to speak with him over the phone.

"I don't think my son did anything, but I notice he is cooperating," said Avila. "I don't have anything against that. He hasn't been through this before so he doesn't know what's going on. He doesn't have no record."

Authorities said Thursday the dragnet was so extensive that there had been numerous detentions and a few arrests on unrelated violations as law enforcement officers encountered people generally matching the suspect's description.

In Sunderland, Mass., Samantha's biological father, Derek Jackson, mourned her Thursday at a news conference from his home.

"I will always stay connected with her. She will live in my heart when I wake up every day," Jackson said. "I love her dearly. I miss you, Samantha."

Jackson also offered advice to other parents.

"Please watch your children. Every second, don't let them out of your sight, especially now," he said.

Outside Samantha's home, a memorial continued to grow. Flowers, stuffed animals, balloons, candles and personal messages to her were laid out on 14 tables in a courtyard of the housing complex. Once full of children playing and skateboarding, it was vacant Thursday morning. A nearby park was also sparsely populated, and parents kept a careful watch.

Tara Frietas, 13, walked with her grandfather, Art Domen, 79, from their Garden Grove home a few blocks away to pay their respects.

They said they had taken extra precautions.

"I have to be home before dark. I can't go anywhere alone, and I'm not to speak to strangers," Tara said, adding she was afraid after hearing the sheriff comment Wednesday that the killer could strike again.

If he's an "undocumented immigrant" (sic) the media will sit on it, the way the govt sat on the LAX shooter's name.

Question: If they do have DNA evidence do they need to bring in Samantha's little friend who saw her kidnapping to ID him in a line-up? Like say "chihuahua" and such? That poor girl will never sleep in the dark again.

You can bet the rent that the little witness has already seen the many photos of individual with and without glasses and in different lighing...

Throwing this guy into a crowd of barrio mothers would be a much stiffer punishment than staking him out over a fire ant hill

Agree. Hispanics DON'T like people attacking children, and would also point out that most of the ones I know, and I have a BUNCH of hispanic friends, get furious when one of their own does something horrible like this. They believe it is a stain on all of them. Richard Ramirez, the nightstalker, was recognized on a bus full of hispanics, and they d*mned near killed him before he could be arrested. If this is the guy (and from early reports, there's a ton of DNA to prove one way or the other), it's one pervert, race is irrelevent.

I only pray Dusek doesn't do the prosecution.

I guess it's not a bad composite, coming from that poor five-year-old witness.

Avila's mother said her son had been on his cell phone at about the time Samantha was abducted Monday night, and that he had told her he was at a shopping mall in Ontario, San Bernardino County, about 40 miles from Lake Elsinore and about 25 miles from the girl's home in the Orange County city of Stanton.

If he's the one and she's lying for him, burn her too.
