Here is what is says about Woodruff working as a translator on the ABC News website: In 1989, Woodruff worked as a translator for CBS News during the events in Chinas Tiananmen Square.
The rest of his bio says he was trained as a lawyer in school but says nothing about having lived in China. So when or where did Woodruff learn Chinese? Or was this an example of resume inflation?
From his WIFE's webpage, at
http://www.colgate.edu/scene/may2002/lee_woodruff.html:
"...Bob was in his final year of law school in Michigan when we met and he was studying Chinese as well. His goal was to be an international lawyer, so the seeds for wanderlust were sown before we took our vows. When the law proved to be much drier in the office than in theory, he grabbed at an opportunity to teach law to Chinese students in Beijing. He asked me to marry him and come along for the adventure. We pulled off a wedding in three months, left behind all of our possessions and I got a job with an American marketing firm in Beijing. Whatever I had expected of my new life in China could not have prepared me for how rudimentary our living quarters at the Chinese law school were. One tiny concrete room, no hot water, concrete floors and live chickens in the hallways. It was Peace Corps living and yet it was the most liberating year of our lives.
The Tiananmen Square uprising in 1989 happened while we were in Beijing and while Bob's students were protesting, he got a job as a "fixer" for CBS News, running around with the camera crews and translating. That experience transformed him. With bullets whistling over his head and the sheer terrible excitement on the square the night the tanks rolled in, Bob decided he had found his calling in life. The legal profession would never look the same..."
Who woulda thunk it?

Princetonian Bill Bradley's 485. (If you're wondering how your kid can get into Princeton with a 485 SAT score, the answer is that she better have a killer jump shot...)" Remember folks, they're talking about the VERBAL scores only. Can you imagine what Bradley must have done on the Math section? Anyway, unless he aced the Math with an 800, that's still a low score for the average Joe to get into Princeton. Our #2 son made a 1590 (Out of 1600) total on his SAT and was rejected by MIT! For Bradley, methinks it was the basketball, also!

I never watch network anything (except sports) but could Woodruff be THAT stupid? He is so pathetically stupid I can't get angry at him.

Other than that dolt Rather, Schieffer gives me the biggest pain in the butt. Arrogance and ignorance has always been a deadly combo.

I never watch network anything (except sports) but could Woodruff be THAT stupid? Yes, and I'm still wondering if he REALLY knew Chinese. Chinese is a really tough language for a Westerner to learn. Maybe Woodruff was using sign language to talk to the Chinese.

I am going too lift that picture of Ann, and make it my wallpaper. The book is awesome. My review at Amazon is here, and,DUH, I only it 4 stars..What a maroon!!
Bookstore Mazes, July 11, 2002
Reviewer: Dev from USA
I went into a bookstore and I couldn`t find Ann`s book. I looked everywhere. Finally, I decided to ask the clerk where I might find a "political book". She showed me a section called Social Sciences. It was well hidden. I fully expected that the NYT #1 best seller (according to Drudge)would be up front in a national book chains store.
Ann is brilliant, and she has strength, wit, and a profound ability to verify every thing that she writes. That is something that you will not find in any broadcast on national TV news programs. I cannot applaud this work enough.
I recently read Pat Buchanan`s book "death of the west". I then leant that book to 5 different people. They all loved it. I will not do that with this book. I want Ann to sell millions of copies and earn lots of money. I want her to have the money and comfort that she deserves in order that She can dedicate herself to her next work which I hope will be equally profound.
Additionally, regarding the reviewers who give only 1 star or even less than 5 stars concerning this book. They have got to do something about their diets. Clearly, these people did not read the same book that I read. Perhaps they should look at the water in their community, because something is so obviously wrong.

I kinda liked our era Ozzie compared to the present day "Ozzie". Both were/are musicians but heck, there ain't no comparison.

I'd like to reply to this pic by saying that Ann is an above level intellectual who is greatly appreciated by us here at FR, for her point-by-point dead-on arguements that are delivered with moxie and common sense. I want to thank her for her hard work and I hope she knows we look up to her with utmost respect.
That being said.....WOW...what a rack!
To: PJ-Comix
Clearly he didn't read her book.
Clearly he doesn't read ANY book.
It would appear that young Mr.Woodruff epitomizes the term ,"Meat puppet".

Good to see the University of Michigan Law School can turn out someone as dumb as Bob, a guy who most likely got by by kissing ass and toeing the liberal/left/PC line till his teeth bled.
Idiot.

I did a review on Amazon after reading the post flacking the book.
It started...if you are religious and/or right(conservative) this is a must read.
She details the efforts to brainwash, used by the media swine, against anyone who is religious, conservative, or both.

Clearly he doesn't read ANY book. That's an extremely insensitive remark. What makes you think he CAN read?
