BUSH USES DEMOCRATS HANGOVER STRATEGERY
Shortly before Monday's kickoff, President Bush delivered a speech on the economy and the market at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The president said, "In order for us to have the security we all want, America must get rid of the hangover that we now have as a result of the binge - the economic binge - we just went through."
At first, I was bothered by this line, but then I saw the genius in it. The word "hangover" is one the left used, inaccurately, about the 80s. Now Bush is applying it rightly to the 1990s. I remember Sam Donaldson and all the press saying of the Democratic Congress' deficit, "Well, we had too big a party. We drank a little bit too much, and we have a hangover, so now we have to pay the bill." So here's President Bush saying that we have a little bit of a hangover from the 90s, and now we have to pay for it.
This gives the Democrats a dose of their own medicine. The Clinton economy was an orgy. The Clinton economy was nothing but a drunken spree, and now we must pay the bill for all that wrongdoing and foolishness and denial of market realities. That's what we're doing as price-to-earnings ratios normalize. The market is fixing itself. Those idiots in the Clinton administration claimed to have "defeated the business cycle," and those who believed it are finally waking up.
Alan Greenspan was right about "irrational exuberance." There was no basis for the DotCom talk. The DOW may go to 7,800 before it turns around, but the markets in Europe and elsewhere are down far more than ours. We only hear about ours, because those pointy-headed jerks want to see America fall. So don't buy this invocation of the Great Depression by Democratic presidential hopefuls like Joe Lieberman which we shared with you in Stop the Tape! Harken Huckster. Our economy is going strong, folks.
The Clinton Bubble!
just think, you blow bubbles, after all.
And in a perfect world, Clinton would be in a cell with 'Bubbles'... ;0)
You must qualify that statement...there is no accountability as long as you are a liberal...those who care nothing about accountability, and have no standards by which to judge aside from which way the wind is blowing, suddenly become intensly concerned when anyone not towing the part line can be criticized.
It makes me gag to hear supporters of Clinton and Gore talk with a straight face about President Bush losing his "moral authority", as Leiberman did recently. One fact of not having any standards is that ludicrous contradictions are just a way of life.
