Message from Snow Bunny to all those who visit the Canteen.

This is how I think of the USO Canteen Freeper Style.
It is like a cottage down a road,
a place where a weary veteran can spend the night.

Since it opened, it is magical how so many
Freepers who post here, feel it too.
It has been so dear how the Freepers
kept making it a cottage - a home-type of place
that had a huge living room
for them to visit in and a dance floor, a library, etc.

Many Veterans have written to me,
saying that the Canteen is like home
to them for the first time since they served.

This is your Canteen -
a respite from our busy
and sometimes troubling world.
Make yourself at home.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, Spookie! The wigs not only help cancer patients, but all kinds of patients with medical conditions that cause them to lose their hair. I had more hacked off than I'd been told when I had my surgery, but at least it all went to a good cause!!

Hi! Sorry to take so long to respond. I have been away from the computer all day. I received that info about Australia in my email. I only posted it at the Canteen and I am unaware if anyone else on other threads has seen it. If you would like to post it elsewhere, please do! I don't really have the time to do it right now....the Canteen is hard enough to follow with my upcoming move and packing, etc. :)))) I would love to see you take it and do whatever you think is appropriate! :)))))) Thanks! Yeah, there are all kinds of sad medical conditions which cause baldness. I went to school with a girl who had no hair...she had something, which I don't know the name of. It was very sad and it was hard on her.
