Message from Snow Bunny to all those who visit the Canteen.

This is how I think of the USO Canteen Freeper Style.
It is like a cottage down a road,
a place where a weary veteran can spend the night.

Since it opened, it is magical how so many
Freepers who post here, feel it too.
It has been so dear how the Freepers
kept making it a cottage - a home-type of place
that had a huge living room
for them to visit in and a dance floor, a library, etc.

Many Veterans have written to me,
saying that the Canteen is like home
to them for the first time since they served.

This is your Canteen -
a respite from our busy
and sometimes troubling world.
Make yourself at home.

I just had Prime Rib on June 30th (au jus, of course!), and it was wonderful! Not as good as they have at the Fifth Quarter, but good!! And sauteed whole mushrooms! And potatoes au gratin (my favorite!). And spare guts!! (Asparagus!!) With cream sauce. And cheesecake. With cherry topping. Fattening, fattening, fattening! But I have trouble keeping weight on, so fattening is good! (Nobody hit me, please?! It's not fun, believe me! Having Ensure shoved in my face on a daily basis is a pain in the bum, and that's the truthhhhhh!!)

LOL! For a minute I was expecting my picture for bum.

My Chiropractor is Canadian and he called my butt, my bum. LOL And I would get such a kick out of the way he would say "out" or "about"...it was like "Ooot" and "aboot". I would tease him. He was a cutie by the way. Canadian men are very good looking, so I've noticed. But then again, I like all men. LOL
