This is an unofficial quick and dirty presidential poll. Apparently, there is a good sized contingent on Free Republic that believes that President Bush is:

1. Not conservative enough
2. Not pro-life
3. Is a gun-grabber
4. Is a federal power-grabber
5. Will appoint liberal judges
6. Is a globalist
7. Is in it just for oil
8. Is too soft on immigration
9. Is too soft (or too hard) on Israel

Please list the numbers that best match the reasons you don't like Bush (or state other reasons if not on the list) and state whether you believe that President Bush should be defeated even if it means installing a Democrat in the Whitehouse.

Conversely, if you believe President Bush should be re-elected, please state why.

Please state who you would like to see win the Presidency in 2004 and whether or not you believe he/she has a chance of winning.

Clinton did plenty. As President, and head of our country, he (and Hitlary) set the standard for lying, cheating, screwing around and completely lowered the fiber of honesty that should have been evident in a President. He trashed our country, open the gates for our secrets to escape, did nothing about the terrorist attacks against our country starting with the WTC in 1993....etc., ad nauseum.

By the way, I think 8 can be solved by dumping more demos out of the Congress. The Congress has the power to regulate immigration. The Democrats are the party that makes it attractive for the flood of immigrants, legal or not. Get rid of the Democrats and their give away programs and let the people set the policy through their reps. If the people truly feel it's a problem, and we did not have the liberal programs (and, oh yeah, the liberal judges who make it possible), the problem would begin shrinking. Just my opinion.

The really impressive part in the fact that those numbers are that high, while the Commissioner , the Congress and the White House are opposing us at every step.

The glee that the democrats are exhibiting over this "issue” and their moral "outrage" tells me one thing...

It tells me that they've found the post-9/11 chink in GWB's political armor and are going for blood. If he doesn't institute some real reform he's going to have hell to pay at the ballot box.

This is no longer a political issue this is the future of this country.

Please, how many times is that phrase written weekly, hell daily, here at FR? Besides which, if Bush institutes moderate and workable oversight now, he can eliminate any pretext that the Dems have for raking corporations over the coals later.

Can you state some figures for your low voter turn out claim?

Seems to me that over 100 million votes were counted for just the top two candidates for President in the 2000 election. In a country of 280 million that's a pretty good percentage, considering that a sizable segment is under 18 and another slice is too mentally disabled to vote.

I fully plan on voting for Bush should he decide to run again in 2004. He has EARNED my respect.

There seems to be a lot of people who rush to judgement on him, but I'm a very patient person. I think there is a LOT going on behind the scenes. Oh, I know, there are plenty of people here who think they should know everything that is going on, but we're in the middle of a war. That makes things a little different. Our lives, and the lives of our families are at stake and we have to make a decision on whether we trust the man and his administration. I've made my decision. I'll trust the man.

The INS is rounding up terrorists all over the place. Just because you don't hear it on the evening news doesn't mean Bush isn't doing something.

Just recently I read of Freepers telling their own encounters with the INS rounding up illegals.

Most of them are already here and doing honest jobs that most Americans won't do. Yep just grab them by the collar and boot them out.

This problem wasn't created overnight and will not be solved overnight. We have two countries one rich and one poor that share a 2,000 mile border. The solution is try to get market reforms in Mexico and bring greater prosperity to Mexico. I think that everybody would agree on that and that ain't going to happen overnight and demonizing honest hard working people is not a solution either, IMHO.

No, it's going to take a much larger majority. We need a landslide for Bush and a much larger margin in both the house and senate. Give the Republicans a mandate to dismantle the federal bureaucracy. As long as we have a chance of a large block of Demos to join the Republican moderates we'll never get anywhere. The Republicans must have the majority so they can control the committees and the agenda and they must have a large enough majority to override the moderates.

#8 is a sore point with me.

However, realistically, I'm much more conservative than the average voter and Bush is closer to the norm of our citizens, IMO. Even as Governor of Texas, he was not known as a exceptionally conservative governor. He was known for his honesty/integrity/sincerity/fairness... and not a wave maker. He tended to draw the "enemy" into his camp and neutralize them. As a result our Democrat Lt. Governor Bullock actually supported Bush for Governor during his second run for office.

However, he tends to pick excellent judges and surrounds himself w/capable people. He is certainly what we need in these trying times against the Islamic Fundamentalist war.

In 2004, it's either Bush or a Hitlary/Edwards choice. It's a no brainer.

The communists understood about propaganda. For over a half century they have infiltrated and they now dominate all the propaganda organs in this country....the movies, the schools, the press, television programs and news...

Until we get back in the game in a truly meaningful way, we can not field a truly conservative candidate who can win.

Certainly it has the appearance of being a lot different, but we are simply being a bit more diplomatic on the matter, while still holding to our principles that we need to be immune from even the phantom chance of somebody daring to prosecute a peacekeeper.

I have no problems with his stem cell decision and can say this as a staunch pro-life, extreme right-wing Christian theonomist.

Uh it is pretty easy take a look at who is picking your vegetables, bussing your dishes and other menial tasks.

Unfortunately, the Repository will most definitely cost him this state. Its a virtual done deal. I have yet to meet anyone who will vote for him again...in fact, I've heard many say they will never vote Republican again. If its close next time, he'll lose the 3 electoral votes. Most I meet are raging. Virtually each I discussed this with said that they would NOT VOTE for BUSH no matter who runs against him. A few are so angry they told me that they'll NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN AGAIN. The kicker seems to be that he approved the repository despite fuzzy science and incomplete tests. He promised Nevada that he would study the issue carefully and then make his determination based on sound science. He lied. Anyone who is for this is insane. 911 should have changed their minds. This is such a horrid terror risk! The articles have been about "dirty bombs." Just what do the supporters think these truckloads will be? They'll be super dirty bombs! Each truckload is 240x the radiation of Hiroshima! These megabombs will be rolling down roads and thru the country side of 43 states! Where's the outrage??? One attack, one accident and that area will be virtually uninhabitable for 50,000 yrs! One route passes 3 blocks from the Capitol! Can you imagine what will happen if one of the "bombs" disperses there?
