A Bush Hater's Poll
Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/10/2002 11:27:06 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

This is an unofficial quick and dirty presidential poll. Apparently, there is a good sized contingent on Free Republic that believes that President Bush is:

  1. Not conservative enough
  2. Not pro-life
  3. Is a gun-grabber
  4. Is a federal power-grabber
  5. Will appoint liberal judges
  6. Is a globalist
  7. Is in it just for oil
  8. Is too soft on immigration
  9. Is too soft (or too hard) on Israel
  10. Is a crook
  11. All of the above
  12. None of the above
  13. Other (you name it)

Please list the numbers that best match the reasons you don't like Bush (or state other reasons if not on the list) and state whether you believe that President Bush should be defeated even if it means installing a Democrat in the Whitehouse.

Conversely, if you believe President Bush should be re-elected, please state why.

Please state who you would like to see win the Presidency in 2004 and whether or not you believe he/she has a chance of winning.

Thanks,
Jim

"Third party politics is a perenial loser. By the same token, just sitting on our hands and letting objectionable things go unchallenged is a mistake, too."

With the exceptions of Ronald Reagan's two elections and the Contract with America, could the same be said for voting for Republicans in general? It is the mind set of voting for Republicans because they are the only alternative to Democrats that frees the Republcians, who are just political whores that cater to a different group of johns, to chase voters in the Democratic ranks. We don't have term limits to protect us from these whores. The only way to get a more conservative class of whores is to demand more conservatism from them and throw them out if they don't cooperate in promising or delivery.

For seventy years conservatives have done little more than rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic. We may already be too close to the iceburg for avoidance, but we are not going to avoid sinking into the abyss by continuing to shuffle the deck chairs. We must force the captain and the crew to change course or we must change the captain and the crew. Mutiny may go against your grain, but it could save you from drowning.

You sound like a cheer leader trying to bolster his or her own lack of conviction.

Oh really. Well, isn't that interesting.

On one thread I'm called everything from a fringer to a cheerleader.

I must be in just the right spot.

" Bush did not win the election ; Gore lost . Gore got over a million more votes than Bush " .

Here we go again with this kind of garbage . Considering what the Republic went thru while the judicial activist in Florida tried to overtly usurp the Constitution ,

Your above comments are simply incredible to read . You know as well as I do the popular vote has no place in our system . You really must be exhausted ..

"..to detect racism.."

The freedom to freely associate also carries with it an inherent right to discriminate. The right of discrimination does not include the right to deny people the same access to public areas. However the Congress and the Court is wrong in intervening in private property rights. One of the fundamental rights of property is the right to exclude. I am telling you and anybody else, when you want to come on my property, I have a fundamenatl right to deny you entrance. And my reasons for denying you entrance are none of the government's or anybody else's business. If I am so short-sighted as to deny people access to my business because of race that is my loss and if they decide to punish me by boycott or other lawful means, that is their perogative. In a free country, government has no right to tell me who to admit to my private property or who I will or won't serve while they are here.

"There is no magical shortcut. If Ron Paul (or Pat Buchanan or Alan Keyes or anyone) were to somehow wake up tomorrow as president (and everything else was unchanged), he would either begin governing differently than he now speaks or he wouldn't begin governing at all."

If you and med are correct, then many patriotic Americans may have laid down their lives at Iwo Jima for nothing. Their children and grandchildren will have tarnished their graves with the ravages of socialism. It is unconscionable what Republicans are not doing. It is unfathomable that so many Freepers cannot see the forest for the trees. Our country is going down in flames while the government under the control of Republicans is pouring on gas, not water.

Democrats are delusional. Has our frustration become so great that Conservatives can't see what Republicans aren't doing? Have conservatives become delusional or abandoned all hope? Have we passed the Gates of Hell? The descendants of Patrick Henry must be a great disappointment to him.

"If there is a fatal flaw in the Constitution, and our present course and current dilemma tends to confirm that there is, the fatal flaw is that there are no term limits for members of Congress and in paricular for the federal judiciary. This has allowed our government to be usurped by a political and judicial class that over time has corrupted much of the Constitution. That is the reason we are having this very discussion. The political class is only interested in remaining in office so that they can retain the reigns of power. You are dead wrong. To move the country in the right direction takes only unwaivering principled integrity, character, courage and conviction. It is the lack of some of these traits that makes Bush a loser. And you missed the point of my answer. If the market continues it's crash, it is not going to matter who the Democrats nominate in 2004; Bush will lose. And yes I am suggesting that if Rush could not win the Republican nomination in 2004, there is still every reason to believe that Rush could still beat Bush as a third party candidate in the election. And if Rush could be persuaded to run and didn't win the nomination or the election, that would be a clear message that the United States is doomed. And the sooner secession could begin the sooner some of us will begin to enjoy freedom again. The mob would be in control of the US and there will no parachutes as they go over the cliff between 2012 and 2016."

I believe this is the most delusional post I've seen in quite a while. The scary part is I suspect you believe the nonsense you write. I've never come across a "DittoHead" quite as clueless as you. The best advice I can offer you is to seek professional help and maybe after countless hours of intensive therapy you might be able to come to your senses and sue Rush Limbaugh for the brain damage you have obviouly suffered from listening to his show.

Unplug the radio and take it to the Pawn Shop before it does anymore damage.

Happy trails

No matter how many Americans they kill or how many places in America they blow up, ragheads from the middle east are not going to destroy America or our freedoms. Seventy years of the socialists' agenda enacted by Democrats has brought us to within a decade of the end of the United States. Most of our freedom is gone, and what remains is eroding on a daily basis. Bush and the Republicans are aiding and abetting the erosion. By far the greater threat to America lies within our own people, not the raghead terrorists. And Bush and the Republicans have become part of the problem, not the solution; just as you who do not recognize the need for a solution are part of the problem.

If we can't change the attitude of Bush and the existing Republicans, we need to discard them and find somebody that will.

Moslems/Islamic people have been waging war on Christians and others for over a thousand years. If we were drilling our own oil, they would still be flying magic carpets/camels rather than jets into buildings, and fighting with sabres. These people can cause us pain. We will get over it. Either we defeat socialism quickly, or the socialists are soon going to succeed in destroying the United States.

"I think those conservatives who expect perfection do the nation (and the conservative movement) harm, because what they want ("all-or-nothing") isn't realisitic, and is counterproductive.."

Since I think you are dead wrong, and considering the rate of inflation; your two cents are worthless.

"For a man who could barely keep a job, and has never been elected to anything he sure thinks he knows it all."

He does; and you don't. Twenty-two million Americans listen to Rush every week. I am probably the only who ever took you seriously. And I only did it to correct your ignorance.

In your present state of mind, you are no friend of mine. Get your thoughts on the "right" track, and you will be welcome, oldfriend.

"Steel tarriffs turn out to have been a negotiating ploy. Small stuff in the big picture."

Tariffs played a key role in causing the last depression. We are now well on the way to the next depression. Bush and Republicans are inflicting death by a thousand cuts on the United States. By my reckoning we are at about cut 950. We will see a thousand before 2016, when the dollar is worthless and the US goes over the cliff of the financial abyss.

"If we could "cull the entire country" for anything we wouldn't even need to be talking third party nonsense, much less 2nd party,"

There would be no talk of a third party if we actually had a "second" party.

Yes, but Bush has failed to recognize who poses the greater danger. The Socialists are a far greater evil and are much more likely to destroy the freedom that we all cherish, or more correctly relish.

Your concept of freedom belongs in the dungeon.

Interesting to learn that the Libertarian police would like to build dungeons for those exercising their 1st Amendment right to practice their faith in the public square, for those who daringly choose to determine what kind of a society they are to live in and bequeath to their children and grandchildren.
