Command Spanish offers customized Spanish courses to both the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Texas Probation Academy for an undisclosed fee.
"It generates an awful lot of money," Slick said of Command Spanish's local, state and federal government contracts.
Ah, the truth comes out. It's all about the money. ...

How do you attend to those needs in any kind of conceivable way? Demand that they learn English, or live with the inconveniences of not knowing it.

Make no mistake. Requiring that all government workers, agency staff, and emergency/LE personnel learn to speak Spanish makes the "liberation of Aztlan" one step closer to fuition.
Adiós, La Cultura de Gringo.

Tendremos que todos aprender el español si seguimos dejando a inmigrantes ilegales en este país de México(Méjico). Desde luego podría ser peor, podrían forzarnos a aprender Farsi

What's the big deal? Common sense tells us that if the police have to deal with people that speak spanish, then they should learn it. It makes more sense to teach a few of the police than to teach everyone else.

"It generates an awful lot of money," Slick said of Command Spanish's local, state and federal government contracts. And there we have it folks...the Bottom Line. The Almighty Dollar. How can we make some dough off of these ignorant immigrants?
Teach 'em English? Hell no! Let's not kill the goose that's laying them there golden eggs!
Do you suppose there's any chance that Command Spanish has had people lobbying State Legislatures and the like to get appropriate laws passed to make their service more marketable? I do.
But then, I'm a little more cynical than most. All right, a lot more cynical.

See the difference? Police officers in 1900 Philadephia weren't required to speak Italian. Police officers in 1900 Milwaukee weren't required to speak German. Police officers in 1900 Houston weren't required to speak Spanish. Immigrants then were encouraged to adopt American ways and the English language, so they shared culture as well as values and aspirations. Many in the first generation wouldn't or couldn't do that. But almost all of their children did. Now they're encouraged to sue so they can hear their Miranda rights in grandpa's language.

We should force them to learn English and let them pay for it.

You have to speak other languages to know whether or not to spray water, agua, eau, wasser, vann, a água, l'acqua, etc. on the fire. Otherwise, everything will get hosed up.

How racist and insensitive to suggest that cops and firemen only learn Spanish. They also need to learn Vietnamese and Chinese as well as know the words to the Saudi National Anthem....
