Robert Saffer, of Brooklyn, N.Y., left, and Josephine Silia, of Fort Lee, N.J., protest President George Bush's proposed crackdown on corporate chicanery -- charging he continues to protect big-money interests, outside his speech, Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in New York. President Bush called for stiff new penalties for corporate criminals and a crackdown on boardroom scandals Tuesday, promising in a speech on Wall Street that his administration would "end the days of cooking the books, shading the truth and breaking our laws." Saffer said the shape of their signs refers to the pretzel Bush choked on in January. (AP Photo/Suzanne Plunkett)

I think the "Resignate" is just the protester using a cute Bushism. Could be, though if it was me I would have made sure that was well known by putting "resginate" in quotation marks (or at least informed the photographer).
My money says it was unintentional.

I suspect thats what she is saying. I guess if you include room and board, books, etc... it could come out to that number. And notice, she is using "NC Average Income" as opposed to HER income.
Hell, after room and board, nearly $16,000 a year to live on sounds like a lot of money for someone going to school. Rent would be the biggest expense, but I guess thats included in "room and board". Even if you have a modest car payment, it wouldn't eat up much of the remaining $16,000. What idiots.
I guess someone such as the protestor would typically respond by saying, "But I'm 23 years old, I am single and have two kids, and $20,000 in credit card debt, and I have to have a cell phone, and Direct T.V.,and......"

"I think these people are just trying to be clever..."
Nope. They're just anti-establishment, non-conformist Leftist types that don't believe in using a Dictionary!

Good one! I like the extra $10 to live on (So much for the "deacrease" BTW!!!)

Well, since we've witnessed the "verbing" of almost every noun in the past decade, maybe the protester on the left was employing, albeit infelicitously, the infinitive "to dumb."
. . . Nah, I knew you wouldn't believe it.

"I think that the errors are intentional, meant to call attention to the Prez's habit of...ummm...getting creative with pronounciation."
Seriously, I think it is a "mean-spirited" reference to the pretzel that President Bush almost choked on a few months ago.

Maybe I just need some anger management skills - but it amazes me that these leftwing jerks are able to stoll down the street without someone getting in their face. I saw an SUV in the airport parking lot the other day with stickers on it like: Fund public education, I vote pro-choice, protect the rain forest, etc... and I was tempted to wait around until the owners got back to ask them how they reconciled driving their big assed SUV to their belief systems.

That is the first time I have ever seen someone that dotted a "g". I'm sure she wrote "W" because she wasn't sure on the spelling of "George".

Actually, with all due respect to Bush, I believe that the use of "resignate" is a reference to a misstatement made by Bush at one time. I believe he once said "resignate" when he meant "resonate."
But it doesn't help these twits' case that they can't differentiate between "too" and "to", which is a much easier word.

"How dumb is to dumb?"
That's too hard a question.

Liberals look better without any signs. The fellow who took that photo is a dude by the name Spencer Tunick and he has gone all over the U.S. taking nude photos of people in large groups.
I saw a documentary on him and it was pretty interesting. They showed him photographing some 1500+ naked people at a Phish concert. Could you imagine the smell???

Could you imagine the smell??? That was my first thought. The good Lord knew what He was doing when He got Adam and Eve to sew fig leaves together and cover their ever-loving heinies.
