12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."

Conservative organizations sell each other donor lists all the time. It is not some sort of anomaly.I'm an anomaly and Klayman is a PT Barnum wannabe. Who the heck are you?
To: A Citizen Reporter
In that case, I was.

It is not some sort of anomaly. It is when you have to be sued to force you to live up to your end of the bargain.

It's none of your business quite frankly.
But I have had some pleasant conversations with you in the past on areas of Constitutional law. You really know your stuff when it comes to Con. law, and I appreciate that.

So I've been told...... but the sun will rise tomorrow as surely as there's a God in Heaven.... So all things considered, if I'm alive to witness it then things can't be all that bad.Hallelujah and amen to that. My 1 year old granddaughter walked across the kitchen tonight for the first time and gave me that 4 tooth smile. Money can't buy that.

I'm an anomaly and Klayman is a PT Barnum wannabe. At least you got the first half right.

It's none of your business quite frankly.Nothing personal, I was joking. I like you. Sorry if I offended.

The IRS is not going after JW to get their donor list.

Two alligators are sitting on the edge of a swamp.
The small one turns to the big one and says: "I don't understand how you can be so much bigger than me. We're the same age, we were the same size as kids... I just don't get it."
"Well," says the big alligator, "what have you been eating?"
"Lawyers, same as you," replies the small alligator.
"Hmmm. Well, where do you catch 'em?"
"Down at that law firm on the edge of the swamp."
"Same here. Hmmm. How do you catch 'em?"
"Well, I crawl under a BMW and wait for someone to unlock the door. Then I jump out, bite 'em, shake the crap out of 'em, and eat 'em!"
"Ah!" says the big alligator, "I think I see your problem. See, by the time you get done shakin' the crap out of a lawyer, there's nothing left but lips and a briefcase..."

And I suppose that you also have a copy of Halliburton's accounting books?
To: jwalsh07
I think it's especially apropos for this thread. :)

I am sure that you hear a lot of things, don't believe all of it though. That rumor is simply not true.

Courts hate malicious prosecution actions against lawyers, and it is the courts, not juries, that determine probable cause, which in practice is a fairly loose standard I think you have convinced me on this point. Now, should Halliburton decide to counter sue Judicial Watch as an organization and during discovery find that funding for this suit came from an organization such as a political party, would that constitute malice?
To: TLBSHOW
If Klayman is connected to Carville, I'd like to hear some details and sources, not just innuendo.
I can't stand Carville or his alleged wife.

Sad to say, if Cheney did something wrong and its severe, and illegal, then we have to face the music on this. It is not our fault, nor GW's. If we had Gore in the WH, and his VP (Hillary) broke the law, we surely would want her to come clean and then deal with the problem.
What Im saying is that we can't have it both ways. WE can't jump up and down when the commie democrats are busted for wrong doings, then live in denial when one of our guys breaks the law, or rules. No, to be right, we have to be willing to acknowledge that our side isn't perfect, and deal with the issues as they are discovered.
