Welcome to the USO Canteen FReeper Style

Message from Snow Bunny to all those who visit the Canteen.
This is how I think of the USO Canteen Freeper Style. It is like a cottage down a road,
a place where a weary veteran can spend the night.

Since it opened it is magical how so many Freepers that post here feel it too.
It has been so dear how the Freepers
kept making it a cottage - a home-type of place
that had a huge living room
for them to visit in and a dance floor, a library, etc.

Many Veterans have written to me, saying that the Canteen is like home
to them for the first time since they served.

This is your Canteen - a respite from our busy
 and sometimes troubling world.
 Make yourself at home.

Our Flag does not only fly at our homes and other buildings.
Our Flag goes to War,it is in the Battle along side our fighting men and women.
And our Flag flys in our HEARTS!

Our American Flag always shines brightly, Always. It aquires its brilliance from the American veterans who have fought and died to preserve it. This flag is our nations very highest honor. There is none higher.

This flag is offered by a grateful nation and the American veterans who have fought and died to preserve it. This flag is given by the United States of America in memory of your loved one. It is for their honorable and faithful service to our beloved country.

I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
       one nation, under God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.

issued what would be his last order.......

"Keep up the fire!"
"Keep up the fire!" has since been the motto
of the U.S. Army 9th Infantry.

Archy, you've been a blessing to me today. I love that piece BTW. We just started homeschooling and I want to find room for "Music Appreciation". My kids enjoy classical music, but I wanted to expand our horizons. I spent some time on Amazon sampling some choral works. It was all so beautiful.
I like "O Fortuna" because it's so powerful and so passionate. I've taken the kids to some Mozart choral concerts in the past. My daughter enjoyed it, but I think the boy is still too young to appreciate it. He'll listen to a CD though. LOL
