Hillary: leadership lacking
Times Herald Record Online ^ | July 9, 2002 | Nathan Hegedus

Posted on 07/09/2002 9:34:05 AM PDT by Quilla

Middletown – Sen. Hillary Clinton said yesterday during an appearance at Middletown's Paramount Theatre that neither the Bush administration nor the Securities and Exchange Commission has "shown much leadership" during recent corporate accounting scandals.

"I don't think it is adequate to just say there are some bad people and that we're going to go after them," she said. "People depend upon our market to be transparent."

She did not, however, specifically call for the resignation of SEC chief Harvey Pitt.

Clinton pointed to the origin of current rules during the Great Depression and said the laws need to be updated for the global and Internet economy of the 21st century.

"We need to go further than enforcing the laws that we've got because I don't think the laws are necessarily adequate," she said. "Human nature hasn't changed in 60 or 70 years. It hasn't changed in a million years. We have got to stay ahead of all those natural impulses people have to take advantage of each other."

You know, I'm really disappointed in Hillary, you know. She didn't even mention, you know, her transparent cattle future scandal. Truly disappointed.

Former President Bill Clinton traveled the globe last year, picking up $9.2 million in speaking fees, while his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, a New York Democrat, got a $2.85 million advance for her memoirs, according to a financial disclosure report released June 14, 2002. Clinton is seen in Dili, East Timor, on May 20. And has she returned any donations she might have received from ImClone or WorldCom? Inquiring minds want to know, Hillie...

People depend upon our market to be transparent.

Unless, of course, Robert L. "Red" Bone is involved.

"People depend upon our market to be transparent."

Hillary has transparency between her ears.

We can read the New York Times right through you, Senator!

Mrs. Clinton takes the gold medal for running, sitting and standing hubris:

Like taking advantage of the alphabet agencies (900 FBI files, IRS audits, etc.) to thwart your political opposition. It takes my breath to even imagine a Hillary presidency - she'd probably appoint Craig Livingstone as SEC head and then deny even knowing him.

Every time that woman opens her mouth, her contempt of the american people is so evident. She, by her words, assumes that the public has no memory skills, no knowledge of history, no regard for truth, facts, and ethics.

History is not a tape recorder on a 10 day loop where you just get to re-record events and tailor them to fit your latest needs. She has no shame.

"I don't think it is adequate to just say there are some bad people and that we're going to go after them," she said.

If Janet Reno had thrown Hillary's worthelss keister in the slammer for illegal cattle futures trading, others may have more careful today. It's called deterence. It works, as does its opposite.

Great link, thanks. In conclusion:

"In commodities futures trading, an account that falls below the "maintenance margin" typically triggers a "margin call," where the trader must put up sufficient cash to cover the contracts. Although Hillary Rodham Clinton's account was under-margined for nearly all of July 1979, no margin calls were made, no additional cash was put up, and she eventually reaped a $60,000 profit. "

Scandalous.

Who knows where Craig Livingstone is today? Clinton rewards his evil little toadies when the fleeting public is no longer watching. Find Livingstone today, find who is paying him to do what, and find his assets. The results would be astonishing IMHO.

LOL!!! Man, that is rich! Old liberal trick, right out of "Rules for Radicals", attack the things that you do yourself. Makes you look clean. Funny stuff Hillary.
