I used to listen to Rush during every lunch hour. I can't stand to listen anymore so I don't. He might as well join mccain in deserting President Bush. He is losing a lot of listeners with his constant Bush attacks.

OK. I accept the mission, but it may take me a week or so. Also, once I get things set up, I will need help because I will be watching my grandchildren starting next week and will not be on FR that much during the day (except during nap time, which I intend to enforce). Give me a week.

Anyone who wants to help or who has suggestions should freepmail me. My current idea is to look for the most obnoxious examples of LYING and hold advertisers accountable by calls and letters, making them nervous.

Money is the key to all of this, in my opinion.

I noticed Donohue is even advertising on FoxNews for his new program. Gee - that must mean he has to go on Fox to lure viewers. What a compliment to Fox.

As I recall, Rubin phoned Treasury to see if they couldn't do something so Enron's credit rating wouldn't fall. Of course they said no, the rating fell, and the rest is history.

Yes that is the story I recall

Hmmmmmmmmmmm and who is in bed with Enron ... who went to bat for Enron ..

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .. can you say RUBIN

I've been thinking the same thing over the past year. How's about we contact The Great One, Mark Levin, and see if there's a way we can get them on anti-trust violations. After all - arent the airwaves owned by the people? And - if there is abuse (which there is) of the use of these airwaves, they need to be kicked off the air or, pay a HUGE fine. I believe somebody can make the case that they (except for FOX) present one view only and deprive all of America with a balanced view of the news.

Mark? You there???? Whatcha think buddy????

I guess with your view that government do nothing - we just sit around and hope those crooks will decide to let us have some of our funds for our retirement intact.

There is such a wave of class-envy and class warfare in this country right now that I fear a mechanism that codifies that current sentiment into our laws regarding corporations.

I'm scared about what the Republicans are going to cave in and allow in this.

Shall we incorporate that with an ongoing thread of media lies, as ClancyJ suggested?

My theory for years has been that the CEO's are committing theft from the top-the new version of fraud.

My major complaint was with their salaries. Salaries appear on the same track as the sports icons. To verify salaries, a corporation will advise workers they are involved in surveys with like companies for comparison of rates. It always seemed that these surveys showed that the lower levels were paid too much and the upper CEO's were underpaid. An adjustment was made in the salary ranges. The next year - the same. A lot can be gained by carefully choosing who you compare with.

Again, gross theft from the top. Then unknown to employees they approve bonuses and stock options for upper managers. This insures the cooperation of managers in their theft.

Can't speak for others .. but I have no class envy .. It is my greatest wish to some day have loads and loads of money

But I still believe if these CEO's lie, cheat and steal with cooked books .. then they should go to jail

Where the heck are all the Bush detractors who have been saying he was opposed to these things he is doing? Why aren't they on this thread? Give 'em time. Can't believe they would miss an opportunity like this.

Waiting for Limbaugh to issue his talking points perhaps?

When is there going to be discussion of the outrageous millionaire pensions that lawmakers get????? (lifetime cushions) ????

When is there going to be a discussion of the totally disastrous bookkeeping at every single Federal Agency to the point that trillions of taxpayers money cannot be accounted for???? Meaning there is a possibility federal officials under Clinton were POCKETING MILLIONS OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS.

These companies do produce things - services and products. Congress does pass laws but these creeps work 3 days a week a few weeks a year.

They are treated like royalty with perks that kings of past ages would envy.

The insider deals that came to their friends (McCauliffe, Rubin) during the fraudulent 90's are so outrageous that most Americans would never believe it if the truth were made known. Instead, the target becomes "corrupt corporations" with the ultimate goal of dismantling the capitalist system in favor of unlimited government control of corporations, of executive compensation, and of the entire free market system! It is the "third way" that Bill Clinton and Tony Blair trumpeted and which China now uses.

THAT IS WHERE THIS IS ALL GOING AND IF WE DON'T STOP IT NOW IT WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE LATER!

Yes, there is fraud and deceit and outrageous compensation for corporate officers. Such practices were promoted and excused during the Clinton years as LONG AS THE COMPANIES WERE PAYING OFF THE PEOPLE THEY WANTED PAID OFF - as in McCauliffe - AND AS LONG AS THE CORPORATIONS WERE GIVING CLINTON AND THE DEMS THE MONEY THEY WANTED!!!

Corporations are not the enemies in this country or in the world Yes there are things wrong.

But what is missing is ETHICS, CHARACTER, INTEGRITY - and these qualities will not be recovered in this country until it is reocvered in every area of our country - in the legislature first and foremost!!! and then in the Board room!

Rebuild confidence in the market????? Then, let's rebuild confidence in the government. How is this done? Aside from a total turn away from the godless immorality in personal conduct which has been flooded down the pipeline of our American culture - such a rebuilding will not occur and we are toast as a nation.

Let's let stupid Americans think about what the LIBERALS WANT IN CONGRESS and in the world - THEY WANT THE GOVERNMENT TO TAKE OVER CORPORATIONS AND FOR GOVERNMENT PEOPLE TO BE MAKING THE MONEY THAT PRIVATE ENTERPRISE NOW GENERATES! THEY WANT US TO FOLLOW THE COMMUNIST CHINESE MODEL! That is where we are headed if these outrageously nauseating pontificating Congressional baffoons succeed in the direction to which they want to take us.

Sorry for the rant - but I see red when we are focusing on corporate greed without EVER TALKING ABOUT CONGRESSIONAL/GOVERNMENTAL GREED, CORRUPTION, FRAUD, ABUSE!

I will help. My problem is the same as yours. The only reason I have been on FR during the day lately is because I got laid off. Normally, I am not home until about 6 at night. If we all do some of this work, we can and will make a difference. It does us no good to just talk to each other on FR. We must stop the lies and hold people accountable.

Hold on now! I listened to Rush. He praised the speech but had some questions on about two of the phrases the President used that he (and I) had some reservations about.

Rush made it VERY clear about 4 or 5 times that in regards to these, he's waiting for further "fleshing out" of those points.

I think we should be looking at GW's speechwriters who should be a little more diligent in not leaving sentences open to misinterpretation when articulating conservative thought.

Rush was conscientiously doing his job in pointing out what caught his attention, all the good, the bad and the beautiful.

I'm a Bushbot and get nervous when poor wording gives the President's enemies an opening for attack.

Yes, yes. I agree. I just fear that 'profits' will become synonymous with 'stealing' based on the current climate of class-envy.

There are a lot of sheople who will bleat: "Baaaaa, if they're richer than me they must be cheating!"

Do you see my fears?

I draw your attention to this tidbit.

"Mr. Rubin, who now collects $800,000 per week as chairman of Citigroup's executive committee" (Washington Times, March 3, 2002).

I don't disagree with many things you mention

But here is a question .. do you think some of these CEO's will spend the next 20 yrs in jail to save Terry's butt??

If this all ends up in court the Rats, and the Senate will have NO control about what the public sees and doesn't see
