As many of you may already know, Fellow Freeper Texana_RED's home was washed away in the devastating floods that are hitting Texas right now. Some of you may have seen video of a house in Kerrville floating downstream, then hitting a tree, and disintegrating. That was Texana_RED's home. Some of you may have seen an interview showing a woman on televison pointing to her red pickup truck which was lodged in a tree. That was Texana_RED. She literally got out with her pajamas, with 2 of her dogs. She lost the rest of her pets, and all the contents of her house, and workshop.
Some of you may have met Texana marching around the Governor's mansion after the election, or at the Freeper Inaugural Ball.
With Jim Robinson's gracious permission, I am being allowed to bring this Freeper in Distress Call to your attention. If you would like to send a donation to help, please check the Texas Chapter Board, or Freepmail Sockmonkey or Anymouse.

Thank you for the ping, Bryan. I'm on it.

Seeing that we are talking about Texas, it doesn't have to be a BIG gift, does it? (hehe)
A check is one the way.
To: PatrioticAmerican
"on the way", not "one the way". long day
To: GUIDO
prayers on the way.
The way things look, a lot of the area is under water, including many places that have NEVER flooded. Usually I am of the attitude that if you choose to live by a river, you shoulnd't come crying when the waters come. But this case......is quite awful. I will pray for everyone down there. It is bad.
To: Budge
Thanks for the ping Budge and 2Jedismom. Texana Red is in my prayers. I know all about losing everything that you have in the world. My husband and I lost EVERYTHING two days after our wedding, in a fire. If it hadn't been for our faith in God and good friends and loving family, we would've really had a much harder time of it than we did. I want to contribute to the donation and also, does anyone have an address where we could send her basic necessities such as towels, dishes, etc? Thanks.
To: anymouse
I don't think that constitutes a true freeper in times of disaster. A true freeper would not take a handout, but this isn't a handout, but disaster relief.
I urge you to convince her to take the aid......
To: Squantos
LOL....... I ignored the 3 party thingy, thanks.
To: anymouse
Thanks I wrote it down from my freepmail. I will tell anyone that wants it to freepmail you if it is not available to me at the time. I am not the most organized person. hehehe my desk is downstairs and i try not to keep to much up here in the loft where the puter is because of the kids.

You just wouldn't believe the flooding. I am not affected thank God but so many in the cities surrounding San Antonio are. The thing is that we here in Texas couldn't remember the last time we had rain, and it was so bad that we were getting ready to start Stage 2 of water rationing and BAM! Today is the first day the sun came out for more than 1hr since last saturday. The sun came out at 3pm at my house and hasn't rained since. But we still sit and wonder if it will start in the middle of the night again.
Yes please pray for all the people affected by this flood of 2002 in Texas, we appreciate it.

Young lady, I want to be on your "Take Back the Senate" ping list as well. I'll be posting a brand new thread with all the latest poll results for the 33 Senate races next Monday (7/8), and I'd like to be able to give you a ping so that you can ping everybody else. Okay?

The address that I have is not a PO Box, it's a street address on Ross Street. So I presume that it would be okay to ship a few essentials there. Check your freepmail in a few minutes, I'm going to send you the address.

Thanks for the link! Although I didn't meet her; I DO remember seeing Red's hat at the FR ball (LOL)...I'm sorry that it can't be much, but I will get a money order out to her early next week. G-d be with you, Red.
To: who knows what evil?
Thanks, and for what it's worth, I don't think anyone should be afraid to use God's name on this website. When we provide disaster relief, we're doing His work after all.

Ok, I'm north of Houston. But I guess that's ok.... We just downsized and I only wish I had half of what I gave away to Salvation Army before this move! I alone could've stocked her kitchen cupboards and one bedroom. GRRRR.
I'll just send money.
To: anymouse
What a shame! Hopefully, someone can talk her into going for that low interest gov. loan to rebuild.
