Breaking news: at least 2 people (believed men) were stopped on freeway near Palo Alto. When CHP arrived, they took off. The car has Tennesse plates. It is unknown why, at this time, the men are evading police. The CHP has stopped all traffic in one direction of the freeway, as the suspects are "contained" within a lane of traffic.....developing.

Thanks, nic. I have not seen any news flashes on the national outlets, so please keep us updated if possible. You just have to wonder if this has something to do with yesterday's shooting. Oh wait, nevermind. I'll be accused of donning my tinfoil hat. ;-)

CNN has it on breaking news..what this is considered national breaking news is beyond me. It seems to be just a car chase

just have to wonder if this has something to do with yesterday's shooting Those were my thoughts, as well. Fox said they will keep breaking in for further developments. A CHP spokesman (I didn't catch named) was interviewed on Fox. He was asked what the plans are; I believe they'll wait a bit, and may call in a SWAT team if the men don't come out of their car. They are just sitting inside right now.....kind of weird.

Hmmm. Logic leads me to the conclusion that they don't want to get caught. ;-)
Hasn't there been other problems near Palo Alto also? I think there has been, but I can't seem to remember what they were. Also..wasn't one of the women that rented a car to suspected hijackers ???? from TN? I really need to do some research.

1990 Oldsmobile, "sitting dead in the water," southbound. Has been sitting there for awhile, began as a highspeed chase, over the Bay bridge, sometimes as more than 100 miles per hour......Tires appear to be sitting on rims now.......the police are going to "wait the occupants out." ...

She didn't rent a car to them. She got phoney drivers licenses for a lot of Muslim immigrants, and bought a used car from one of the ringleaders for herself. She was burned to death in it under suspicious circumstances, right before she was going to testify against them.

I thought the same thing, DJ. :o/

Don't they do this every Friday in Kalifornica?

Is Al-bore and Tipper on another N. California speaking tour again? :) Geez, they'll do anything to get attention these days.

Maybe there's just nothing "really" interesting going on, ya know? They have to have
something to report. I just saw the car, it's a red/maroon Oldsmobile and I think that FNC says it is a 1980's model. There are
no tires left, as the CHP threw down strips and blew the tires out. Also heard that they went over the bridge (I don't remember what bridge they said) at over 100mph at times. Police saying they will wait this one out as it appears that the people in the car have no intention of getting out. It looked to me as if there was someone/something in the backseat of the car.
We'll see...it could be just another CA car chase and more than likely it is. But with the LAX shooting yesterday, you just never know.
Besides, if we didn't speculate, what fun would we have? *grins*

Tennessee had a woman at the DMV selling fake drivers licenses to middle eastern guys. She was murdered the day before she was to testify against them.
