I like to steam a whole head of broccoli (separted into florets, and scraping the stems) in the microwave for three minutes or so, and then have it to eat hot or cold. I'm good at overcooking it so that helps when something interrupts the steaming.

Vomiting can throw off the acidity of the blood because you vomit up acid from your stomach, and the kidneys try to correct this by trading bicarb for potassium in excretion.
But if your acidity is throw out of whack for another reason, it can cause you to feel nauseated and cause you to vomit.
So, there is no way to tell without more information whether the vomiting is the horse or the cart, the cause or the effect.

Kidney specialists (I'm talking nephrologists, not urologists) are the ones who are most familiar with all the causes of acid-base imbalances, so I am very glad you have one consulting.

Ultrex sounds familiar, but not spelled the way I remember it---it may be a generic of the one I remember which was a synthetic opiate substitute.
All pain killers, including Tylenol and aspirin and the nonsteroidals as ibuprofen (Motrin), have the risk of causing kidney damage or interfering with kidney function, some more so than others.

Huh?

LOL!! Acid-base balance in the blood and all the physiological and chemical systems that impinge on it are the most complicated and most difficult study I ever undertook. And every time I redid ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) I had to study it all over again because it isn't so easy to remember when you don't use it every day.

I found relativity problems and calculus easier. However, physical chemistry was harder.

Your John Adams quote was wonderful. It puts me in the mood to watch 1776 tomorrow. I saw that on stage when it was first done on broadway and bought the tape of it. Hubby and I listen closely to every bit of dialogue in that tape, as to what is true historically and what is exaggerated for the stage production. One of our favorites.

I once had a great video drama about the Constitutional Convention called A More Perfect Union. I sent it off to our soldiers overseas and I can't remember where I got it.

Ever heard of it?

What a presumptuous piece of sh*t. I've fired off my letters to the editor. Gee, Mr. Reno, what about Bill Clinton and his sleepovers, what about all the money Bill Clinton poured in Enron via the Export-Import bank, what about the time Ken Lay stayed at Camp David with Bill Clinton, what about the $25,000 per seat trade junkets with Ron Brown?

You might want to also add .. guess what Top Executives spent election night in 2000 with non other then Albert Gore and Joe Lieberman

YEP .. that would be ERON EXECUTIVES !!!!

And the Dude running the GAO that was appointed by yes... Bill Clinton .. guess where he use to work ..

YEP .. that would be non other then Arthur Anderson

Oh and then there is Globel Crossing ..

HELLO Terry the money man

The Dems for MONTHS have been trying to pin this on Bush and they have failed

The truth is .. The Dems hands are sooo dirty in these cooked books it's not funny .. why do you think those Senate Committees have gone no where

I have another question which I thought about after I went to bed. Her GI dr. told her not to ever take ibuprofen etc. due to her Crohn's but isn't Ultrex{sp} just as bad on her system? She had a test done when she was in the hospital about 10 days ago which did not show any active Crohn's but she did have a lot of inflamation in her small intestine. Could that be due to this pain medication? We try to talk with our pharmacist before she takes any new drugs but I do not remember if we did about this new pain drug. It is a job keeping up with everything she has to take and any reactions she might have with any new prescriptions. I was talking with a nurse this afternoon and she said the inflamation might be the beginning of a new attack of Crohn's. Jan talked with her dr. up at the Mayo Clinic in MN yesterday and he told her to stay close to home in case she did need IV's. They are really great about answering any questions she has about any problems. Thanks. MamaB
