Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials
GABEO NEWS
The following resolution was authored by The Reverend Henry Ficklin , Macon City Council and Treasurer of the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials. It was unanimously adopted during the recent convention on June 22, 2002.
WHEREAS: Senator Zell Miller has long enjoyed the overwhelming support of the Georgia African American vote in his races both for Lt. Governor and Governor of our state; and
WHEREAS: Both his appointment and election as Senator from the state of Georgia also were unquestionably and heavily supported by the African American voters of our state; and
WHEREAS: Senator Zell Miller has been the epitome of the southern gentleman in all his public dealings, especially as it relates to ladies and his colleagues from the state of Georgia; and
WHEREAS: Senator Miller in his book, Corps Values, states that "the only basis upon which diversity can coexist with commonality and all people can pursue individual goals for themselves while contributing to the general well-being and advancement of society as a whole" is the core values he learned during his 90 days of basic training for the Marine Corps on Parris Island; and
WHEREAS: "Core values" include respect of others (particularly females) and the fundamental Christian teachings of diversity and inculcation of the Golden Rule; and
WHEREAS: Senator Miller has recently made scurrilous comments and excoriating remarks regarding Representative Cynthia McKinney, the first African American female elected to the U.S. Congress from the state of Georgia; and
WHEREAS: His comments and remarks seek to impugn the integrity of Representative Cynthia McKinney's coexistent diversity in the U.S. Congress as she pursues individual goals for herself while she contributes to the general well being and advancement of society as a whole; and
WHEREAS: Many news revelations and public sentiment have regarded Representative Cynthia McKinney's political acumen as clairvoyant and prudent, Senator Zell Miller has refused to temper his continuous flay towards Representative Cynthia McKinney.
THEREFORE: The Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials (GABEO) resolved that Senator Zell Miller is urged to remedy the dissension resulting from his remarks of difference and regain the friendship status that he has long since enjoyed with a constituency that was offended by his comments by offering Representative Cynthia McKinney the same respect given to other elected leaders in the state of Georgia, thus returning to the core values that make it possible for all of us to coexist with commonalty despite our diversity.

If McKinney is a stupid oddball, and out of touch with Americans and the values this country stands for, perhaps the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials (GABEO) should consider not supporting her, instead of demanding Zell support her. "Scurrilous comments and excoriating remarks"!!!???? Isn't that what McKinney did to the Prsident?
Always glad to see you on TV.
The African American Republican Leadership Council Demands that Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D GA-4) be stripped from her House of Representative Armed Services and International Relations Committees Without Delay
From all indications, it appears from public records that Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney may very well have ties to terrorists and or friends of terrorists.
And given Congresswoman McKinney has to date refused to disavow support of known terrorist supporters including Hezbollah and Hamas protagonist Abdurahman Alamoudi.
And given the sensitive nature of the committees on which she sits, the American People would be better served and rest at night reassured that briefings the Congresswoman might be privy to, does not end up in the wrong hands.
Hence, after much deliberation and review of public records and all other information available to AARLC, and the Congresswoman unwillingness to come clean with the American People on what exactly is her relationship with terrorists, the African American Republican Leadership Council demands that the House Leadership remove the Congresswoman from these prominent committees to safeguard sensitive information being compromised intentionally or unintentionally by the Congresswoman, especially as our young men and women of all races remain in harms way as we combat terrorism in defense of freedom and liberty worldwide, and our very existence. Not to remove her would be a failure to avert potentially credible information ending up in the wrong hands.
Further, the African American Republican Leadership Council, calls on the Congressional Black Caucus to suspend the Congresswoman from this Historic Black elected officials congressional committee that represents the many several thousands African American young men and women that today have left their families at great sacrifice and put themselves in harms way to defend the very institution that she has so soiled with disrepute on its entire leadership and 40 strong membership.
Further, that Congresswoman makes public her list of donors to the American People and completely divulge her relation to terrorists without delay or resign from Congress.
Further, the African American Republican Leadership Council requests that Congress panels the House Ethics Committee and other relevant committees to look into whether Congresswoman McKinney has compromised her committees' assignments, is a friend of terrorists, has accepted funds from terrorists, aids and abets terrorists, committed treason in her oath to defend and protect the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic and if so must expel her from Congress without delay.
And last, but not least, The African American Republican Leadership Council demands that Congresswoman Cynthia Ann McKinney immediately apologize to the Commander in Chief, President George W. Bush of our Armed Forces and former President George H. W. Bush, for her treasonous allegations made back on March 25, on KFPK, a Berkeley California public radio station against the President, his father and other associates.
We condemn this new precedence setting of the Congresswoman as callous, wanton, vile, despicable and darn right irresponsible and unbecoming of a member of Congress of any political affiliation, race, sex or creed.
The African American Republican Leadership Council stands behind and with President Bush along with all Americans as we battle to assure our American way of Life, freedom and liberty.
Those words sound like they could describe one the day after a visit to Taco Bell!
Never mind that I voted for a man who happened to be black for Supreme Court Justice.(Robert Young, who is up again for election this year and has done a good job)
Like Zell cares what this bunch thinks.
BTW, GA FReepers - did AFVetGal get a new username?
What more can one add?
