President Bush announced today that he will undergo a colonoscopy tomorrow at Camp David, a routine checkup after doctors found benign polyps a few years ago. The procedure will mark the first time there has been a transfer of power to the Vice President while a President has been sedated for a medical procedure. When asked how he feels, the President said that he felt fine and was looking forward to an afternoon of exercise, after the procedure is done. Earlier in the day, Bush attended a fundraiser for Rep. Connie Morella, R-Md. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Praying for our beloved President and hoping he gets away for at least a few weeks at the ranch this summer. If only to torture the ugly hateful White House press corps.

Rintense, Thanks for all the great pictures this week. I've been catching up and it has taken me DAYS - the threads have been so chock full of fun posts and replies. I'm so glad to see Lawgirl back on the Dose - in fine form. OhioWfan, so glad you heard from Eric and he is adjusting so well to Army life. It sounds like you had a great trip to Maine. I missed the weigh in last night - but my husband lost 8 lbs !!!! Does that count ??? We do everything together :-) I'm working on it, but I'll be away for about 2 weeks on vacation - we'll be leaving as soon as the playoffs are over. We really want our baseball boy to win, but we also want to get away. These playoffs are cutting into our vacation by 4 days. Some planning, huh?? Oh well, such is life.

I won't have access to a computer so I'll be without the dose for all that time. I may be ready for a straighjacket by the time I get back. LOL.

Your hubby lost 8 pounds? That is great. Men seem to lose weight a lot easier than women.....guess it's a metabolism thing.....Have a good vacation. 2 weeks off! What a nice break!

The dinner was very nice. I got to go because of a very wonderful person who is active and effective and who has a heart of gold! (And because of a FR tie in). Didn't think I would get to make it - but I did.

All I can say is Liddy Dole is still a "star" when she appears places - and yet is a very warm personable person. She is as I have said somewhere - the skinniest woman candidate for anything I have ever seen. I think she only drinks water for her meals!

Some locals were upset because they close down the Highways here for the VP to come to the location of th event from the airport - but too bad. That happened a LOT when Algore used to come here during those woeful Clinton years.

You can read about VP Cheney's speech over here

Commie was on a local D.C. radio tonight and she sounded like a Republican!

I'm so confused!

Great photos, as usual, Rintense! I have to say, though, that that photo of GW talking in that woman's ear is pretty funny. Can you imagine what captions we'd be giving it if that were Bill Clinton? LOL Don't you hate when the camera catches your mouth in a strange position? LOL

Regarding Morella, the mayor of D. C. is pro-Morella, so I think the DNC is counting chickens before they hatch if they think this is an automatic pick-up.

Thanks Rintense for the birthday wishes! I wonder which one of us is older? Hmmm? Couldn't be me! LOL!
I had a great day, Mtngrl took me to lunch and we ate some yummy fish and chips and hush puppies! She had never had hush puppies before, and she liked them!
She gave me a beautiful bookmark that she had made herself, such talent! Thanks again Mtngrl!
The funny thing was, after we ate, we were wandering around the little area where the fish and chips were and happened upon the headquarters for the Republican candidate for Congress in our district.
Being the good little pubbies that we are, we went in and got yard signs and bumper stickers! Next door will be the headquarters for the Pubbie candidate for Governor of California, Simon, so we vowed to go back when his office opens and volunteer our expertise! Well, we can knock on doors anyway!

Rintense, did you mention that we should have a special time on the dose where we each shared our special recipes? Did anything come of that yet? I think that would be a fantastic idea! I have a few files of recipes from other threads here that did that, and have had some wonderful meals and desserts from them.

Thanks again for the wishes, and for the dose!

That's a better photo than the ones I took! That one looks like they are dancing - but they didn't dance, to my knowledge. Another thing - Former Mayor (of Charlotte) Vinroot was there - he is now 100% supporting Elizabeth Dole when at one time he was going to run against her in the primaries. He knows she can win and, gracious man that he is, that's what counts.

Will try to get a picture to you all when these are developed. My digital pictures were not good. :-(

Glad to hear that the NC Rpublicans are getting their act together and following the Reagan 11th Commandment! How great that you got to se the Vice President!

Rintense, thanks, and I will be watching TV tomorrow as we get the pundits, doctors, and DIAGRAMS along with ultra serious reporters waxing eloquent about the transfer of power. In fact, Greta is doing this now.

What a bunch of ninnies!

The test is very simple. The only difficult part is if they find any polups, because then they have to remove them. I was fortunate, they didn't find anything.
