Dick Gephardt's appalled. Tom Daschle's chagrined. Congress, in general, is at wit's end.

It's time for us to do something, they say. WorldCom. Enron. Global Crossing. Enough.

Here's what I say: not so fast. Before you start policing other peoples' books, police your own.

That's why it's so important that we continue to support him while simultaneously holding his feet to the fire on his willingness to compromise to the Left vis a vis Social Spending. We demonstrate the Power of the Right's ideas in the upcoming Congressional Elections and I believe we're gonna see some major improvements in policy-making from '03-'04.

Absolutely!
And this is why I'm so pumped up over the SCOTUS ruling on vouchers.
I believe that when the voucher/tax credit programs spread to families across the entire country, that free entrerprise/market economy will show it's glorious head & we'll see education costs go down. This will attract even more folks to paying more attention to the choices available for their children, which will in turn create a demand for more private schools.

As more children attend these schools, the public school's enrollment will shrink, negating any further budget increases, which then will hopefully lead to budget decreases.

It is imperative that we rid the SCOTUS of the "living document" reading-social engineers & replace them with true constructionists.

W has gone on record as saying that he'll appoint conservative justices. He deserves this chance, and our vote in '04.

Marxists like Hillary, Gore, et al carry a very real potential to turn this country into a second-world, statist nation.

"Uncle Mud, will do."

Oh yeah, an update on that...Brendon Charles was born Friday evening (6/28) and weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces...since we had the young'uns with us and they were getting restless, we got to see B.C. just about as early as any non-medical personnel and the mommy/daddy and his eyes were already wide open and alert. Good lookin' kid, IMHO, and the MUDclan is ecstatic.

Dick Gephardt's appalled. Tom Daschle's chagrined.

Joe Lieberman is disappointed. John McCain is frothing. Barney Frank is feeling a little fagged.

"Rock on, Mudboy, rock on!!!!!"

Hmmm, alright then...

"No Sympathy fer the Lib'rals!!"
(To be sung to the Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil")

Please allow me to introduce the World...
To the Left, they feel no shame!
Been around here for forty long years...
Stole many a man's Hope and Faith!
Fascists in Power when Jesus Christ...
Bore our crosses and bore our pain.
Made damn sure our Savior...
Wouldn't threaten their Evil Reign!
Please believe me...Lib'rals are to blame!
Despite their righteous talk, more Power is their aim!!

They saw their chance in St. Petersburg,
When they saw the Monarchy had been shamed.
Killed the Czar and his ministers...
As well as any Man who could think!
They rode the tanks in Heil Hitler's ranks...
When the blitzkrieg raged and all Waco stank!
Please believe me...Socialists are to blame!
Oh, yeah! Bloody failures, yet, they seem oblivious to shame!

They cheered with glee helpin' Pol Pot succeed...
Led by Hanoi Jane, their hands are bloody-stained!
They shouted out, "Who killed the Left's Elite?"
While slaughterin' all who just wished to breathe free!
Let me please clarify myself, these Elites have wealth and "taste"...
But their attacks on Liberty...have become a National Disgrace!!

I swear to you, DemonRATS are to blame!
Oh yeah! But what's puzzlin' me is their arrogant lack of shame!
Ah, yeah!...Go out and get 'em, boys!!

(cool guitar jammin')

Please believe me, Slick's tyrants are to blame.
Oh yeah! But what's important now is the shaming of Bill's name!

'Cuz EX-Prez'dent's just a criminal...and all his critics Saints!
While I could call Slick "Lucifer," I'll exhibit some restraint!
When you see Slick, show due courtesy...
But have no sympathy, 'cuz Bill's a snake!
Condemn all his corrupt politics, or be ashamed to show your face!!

Pleased to meet you...Mudboy Slim's my name!
Uhm, yeah! Bringin' Clinton down is why I must serenade.
Uhmm, I mean it...Get out...Yeehah...Resign!...Get on out, BOY! Ah, yeah!

Tell you Country, Lib'rals are their name.
Tell you, voters, it's something you can change!
Tell us, Willie, where's your shame?!
Tell you one thing, Slick's to blame!!
Ooh Hoo! Ooh Hoo! Wahoo! Alright! Ooh Hoo Ooh! Ooh Hoo Ooh! Ah yeah!

"John McCain is frothing."

McCain is increasingly 100% irrelevant, IMHO...I believe he thinks he can win the DemonRAT nomination and beat Dubyuh in '04 with the Left's enthusiastical support!!

"Everett Dirksons famous statement about a million here and a million there.....In his day a million was "real money." "

It really has reached unprecedented levels of surrealism when our Federal Leviathan can "misplace/lose" $Billions upon $Billions each and every year and the Sheeple continue to allow the BureaucRATS to pathetically beg fer more of my hard-earned money!!! I say every time $XX cannot be accounted for in a departmental budget, it is removed from the budget for the upcoming year.

"If our Legislators are so fiscally lax and corrupt, it seems a logical step to MAKE THEM CLEAN UP THIER INCOMPETENCE AND OUTRIGHT THEFT of our taxpayer's money NOW.

That's certainly a start, but by no means a solution. I don't know if you recall the Grace Commission Report in which they recommended hundreds of ways to decrease Fraud and Abuse and not a single bit of it was implemented. No, we must insist on tightening departmental budgets by a pre-determined percentage per year, and force these Bureaucracies to account for--and justify--every penny we send them!!

"Thank God we have an honest and moral President, at last. Now, let's see what he can accomplish in the next 3 years toward cleaning this mess up. It won't be easy. Those who are corrupt and those who benefit from their corruption will use any and every means at their disposal to protect the corruptioon they created."

Yep...the inertia of the Federal Leviathan is immense, and we will have to work systematically for years to rid ourselves of as much of their mentality as possible. Still, I can see America decreasing Federal spending by at least 1% per year for 8-10 years, and we still wouldn't get into the meat of what the FEderal Government should be concerned with!!

"Rush's opinions on the liberalism of college kids made one caller, Lenny, ring up from a Barnes & Noble payphone. Another caller phoned up later to talk about the "wealth bigots" and the myths of rich Republicans. People across the fruited plain weighed in all day.

"Democrats like the Kennedys are rolling in dough, yet they scream the loudest against other wealthy people! It's all out of guilt. Rush pointed out that college kids are mind-numbed robots who go through a liberal indoctrination. They don't start learning the truth in life or actually thinking until their late 30s - if ever.

"Prior to that awakening, those things they tell you in public arise because they think that's what they are supposed to say, think or feel,. But when you look at the way they live, you see they have values. Our brand of conservatism - Reaganism - has always been fighting for dominance. That's why we don't praise the Republican Party as our entity. It's always been a bunch of blue blood country clubbers who would rather keep their nose up and apologize.

"When we're winning, these country clubbers don't mind us being around, but the moment they think we're tarnishing them, then it's "You don't quite smell right." Those are the people, like the so-called neoconservatives in the Beltway, who want to be liked by libs. They're the ones who criticize their fellow Republicans, because that's when the PMSNBC bookers call.

"But you can't get along with liberals, because the hallmark of liberalism isn't any one issue. What animates liberalism is the appearance of opposing authority - which means "parents" to students. That's the whole answer - which you can hear in detail in the audio links below. Yes, if you see a liberal, you're seeing someone who hates one or both of their parents. Count on it."

..BTW, is that FUMA '67 Fork Union Military Academy? That's just up the road from me.

Hey, ain't that sumtin! What's the area like now? When I graduated it was most rural. There were abandoned houses around from the civil war era. Now I understand, like everywhere, its urbanizing quickly.

Btw, I was in A Company, with Lee Atwater. He was class of '68, I think. Any y'all remember Lee?
