What Catholic Bishops Don't Want You To Know
Agape Press ^ | June 27, 2002 | R. Cort Kirkwood

(AgapePress) - When the Catholic bishops completed their conclave in Dallas, they had no more addressed the real problem in the priesthood than they had before, because it would rattle the Roman Catholic Church down to the catacombs.

That problem is homosexuality, not pedophilia, and more than a few bishops and priests, and even some orthodox Catholics, have said nothing forbids the ordination of homosexuals.

They can and should control their sexual urges just as heterosexuals do, we are told, and the Catholic Church must not be unjust.

But here’s what the bishops aren’t telling Catholics: a 41-year-old law in the Catholic Church forbids the ordination of homosexuals, which might just be the reason the bishops won't discuss the genuine source of the underlying corruption.

The Law

John Vennari, writing for the Roman Catholic Faithful website, reveals that ordaining homosexuals is forbidden in the document, “Careful Selection and Training of Candidates for the States of Perfection and Sacred Orders.” Published February 2, 1961, it appears in the Canon Law Digest, which presents “Officially Published Documents Affecting The Code Of Canon Law.”

Says the crucial paragraph, “Advancement to religious vows and ordination should be barred to those who are afflicted with evil tendencies to homosexuality or pederasty, since for them the common life and the priestly ministry would constitute serious dangers.”

Well, we all know what those dangers are, and so did the Catholic Church fathers who wrote the law.

Oddly, when an official from Roman Catholic Faithful asked the papal nuncio, the pope’s legate in Washington, D.C., to send him a copy of the law, the nuncio refused: “Kindly be advised that the document, which you request, was reserved to the use of the bishops,” the nuncio wrote. “Thus I regret that I am unable to help you in this matter.”

How a church law can be “reserved for the use of bishops,” anymore than a civil law can be “reserved for the use of judges,” is a mystery, but one understands the urge for secrecy.

Why Not Release It

Bringing attention to this obscure law, reaffirmed by a statement from the Vatican in 1990, would prove the bishops are violating it.

For the bishops, this might conjure the fearsome specter of even more lawsuits against the Catholic Church, although one wonders how the legal situation could get worse. For Catholics in general, it begs the obvious question of how so many homosexuals were ordained, again, in contravention of church law.

Answering that question turns a light into the dim corners of Catholic seminaries, where sexual corruption is unbridled and a “gay subculture” flourishes, according to Goodbye Good Men, a new book about the training of priests.

The sleaze is so bad, the book reveals, that some seminaries have become lavender cathouses with nicknames like “Pink Palace” and “Notre Flame.”

What the Bishops Don't Want

This sexual scandal signals the beginning of the end of the unvarnished heresy, apostasy, liturgical abuse and political agenda of the liberals, feminists, homosexuals and quack theologians in the Roman Catholic Church.

They know it, and it explains the obscurantist rhetoric about the moral disease killing the priesthood, and the nonsense about “pedophilia summits,” a term the media have used that disguises the truth.

The corrupt Catholic bishops want to stop the bleeding, and that is why, where homosexuality and canon law are concerned, they have taken a another vow:

Silence.

In a related story from AgapePress.org:

In what appears to be another move to court the homosexual vote, President Bush has quietly signed into law a new measure that grants death benefits to the "domestic partners" of firefighters and police officers. The announcement came in the form of a one-sentence e-mail from the White House late Monday evening while the media was still focusing on the president’s Middle East policy speech made earlier that day. According to The Washington Post, the new law allows a $250,000 benefit for survivors of public safety officers to be paid to any beneficiary listed on the victim’s life insurance policy. Up to now, the money has been available only to spouses, children and parents. Homosexuals are celebrating. Conservatives are alarmed. Lou Sheldon of the Traditional Values Coalition says homosexuals see this as a first step toward recognizing homosexuality on the same level as heterosexual marriage -- and that, he says, is what it will be used for. Paul Weyrich of the Free Congress Foundation says it amounts to the government putting its stamp of approved on a deviant [sinful] lifestyle.

Just thought you might like to know.

Isn't that what Hillary would have done? George "Hillary" Bush & the "Two-Party Cartel" will carry out the wishes of the elites, ie NWO. But we must take away ALL of the issues that socialists/Dems have in order for RINOs to have the bigger offices in Congress. Today more of YOUR money was handed out (20 billion) by the G-7, probably we gave the most. But GW is good, dems are bad. Hillary would have done this also. But good. It was done by a (R). You see I am a compassionate along with our president. Compassion means giving ALL of YOUR money to the greatest leader in the world because he knows best what to do with it . VIVA BUSH.

Sad, really.
Perhaps it's high time they cut their losses. Truly put their trust in God. Do what they truly feel and know is required of them. Let the chips fall where they may. If they are true to God, they have nothing to fear. He will take care of the rest.

Kirkwoods' piece was published on June 21st not the 27th. He also fails to disclose that the document in question was published by the laity in May prior to the conference in Dallas in June. The cat is out of the bag and the laity is pressuring the bishops to comply with the decree. It's existence was made known and quoted from back in March and there are several bishops who are and have been faithful in their adherence to it. The exposure of those who refuse to obey is beginning.

My take on it:

Mortally Flawed: How the Disease of Liberalism Led the American Bishops into Error, and How that Contributed to Problems in the American Catholic Church

First of all, let me say that for most of my life, I was either non-Catholic or anti-Catholic so I never blindly followed the Teachings of the Catholic Church.

Later on in my life I realized that the Churches claim to be a least as old as the Orthodox Church, and yet to be not based on a single Nationality, but have Universal membership, made me decide to take a closer look at the Churches teachings.

After several years of study regarding the Churches view on it’s unique aspects such as the role of the Pope, the Communion of Saints, Marian Theology, the Sacraments, Purgatory, and Apostolic Secession, I decided that not only was the churches teachings sound, they were convincing.

I have been a convert to the Faith since I was 35 years old, which is slightly over a decade. My wife and my children also joined me in this journey.

One of the first things I noticed was that the Catholic idea Heaven is that not everyone is the same in Heaven. Where as a Protestant I believed that on death I would be dancing in the street with the Lord, the Catholic’s believe that only the highest angels the Seraphim gaze constantly at God’s face.

In Catholicism, you are rewarded to varying degrees for what you do. This idea is not without foundation in the bible, the idea being to save up for treasure in heaven. As there are various levels of rewards, so to are there varying levels of sin.

The idea of mortal vs. venial sin is based on Paul’s teaching in Thessalonians. Think of it in terms of your physical body. All injuries hurt you, but not all injuries kill you. But by the same token, you wouldn’t cut off your hand and use the argument: “Well, I knew it wouldn’t kill me. I know I wouldn’t die, just bleed a lot.”

Where the American Bishops have gone wrong is this, their idea is that: “Well, some priests have heterosexual tendencies and some have homosexual tendencies. That is not important. What is important is that to not act on those tendencies, which would be a sin.”

This is exactly the kind of moral equivalency that seems to be the assumption of the entire media/news complex and the entertainment fields. In fact Seinfield based a show on the idea of: “Not that there is anything wrong with that”.

The American Bishops view ignores the fact that there are profound differences between those with homosexual tendencies and those without them.

The incidence of mental disorders, of suicide, of mental breakdowns of depression, of drug use is much higher among gays than straights in our society. In fact, from the viewpoint of life expectancy, being gay statistically shortens a person’s life more than smoking two packs of cigarettes a day.

Also from a moral standpoint there is evidence that they are not the same as well. In the Old Testament Lott offered his degenerate neighbors his virgin daughters to spare them the sin of unnatural sex with the angels.

In conclusion, the error of liberalism has infected our society with moral equivalence, and even the Bishops are not immune from it. It would appear that the American Bishops have not yet learned the lesson of Bill Clinton, Morality does Matter!

A classic, I might add.

I respond only out of a burden to present the truth of salvation revealed in God's Word, not to criticize your religion.

If you do not approach Jesus Christ personally for the forgiveness of sins, but only through priestly mediators, His response to you will be succinct:

Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' -Matthew 7:22,23

There is simply no mediator but Christ himself.

And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. -Hebrews 9:6
