After eight years of the bent 'toon, I guess I'll believe anything about anybody - maybe the goose is simply seeking his fifteen minutes.

Whatever the motivation, I pray it lights a fire under every conservative's backside thoughout our country like it has here at FR.

wow....these are some of the greatest people in the world, but even when I am trying to make a ping list I draw a blank on all the names! Then I post and wonder.....how on earth could I not have added so and so and so and so. Something I have learned here is the a deliberate slight is almost unheard of. What you wrote was wonderful! :))

Helicopter damaged in hard landing; no injuries

Associated Press

SIGONELLA, Sicily — A Navy helicopter was severely damaged Thursday after what the Navy said was a “hard landing” during a training flight. There were no major injuries to the crew.

A statement from Sigonella Naval Air Station, Italy, said the mishap occurred just after the MH-53 E transport helicopter took off.

The chopper sustained “significant” damage after it made a hard landing but “there were no significant injuries to crew members,” the statement said.

It said Italian and U.S. firefighters, as well as medical personnel responded.

The statement didn’t say how many people were on board the helicopter or provide further details. Officials said the base’s spokesman was unavailable late Thursday for further comment.

The MH-53E, which is built by the Sikorsky company, can carry up to 55 troops or a payload of 16 tons over 50 nautical miles. It normally carries a crew of two pilots and one to five additional crew members depending on the mission, the statement said.

BRAVO LadyX!!!! A Canteen Classic! I'm laughing my 'arms' off (as Misty would say)! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Spookie, LOVED your rant! You preach it, gurl! You are right on target.

I'm battling my Canteen 'addiction' today too! Gotta get my laundry done and run some errands before hubby discovers what I 'really' do all day long! hehehe

I just got around to reading through The Canteen and saw Spooky's rant, and it tripped my trigger..:)))

Yes, there is a wealth of Wonderful Ones who inhabit this place - so many talents and personalities.
We all DO rush in to give attention to Special Needs.

THE GREATEST NEED, though, is to let all those military men and women and their loved ones and friends know
THEY ARE THE SPECIAL ONES.

Just saw on Fox News a visit by Lee Greenwood and his guitar player, singing his God Bless America (goose bumps crawling and tears welling in me whenever I heat it, going back to the Gulf War) AND the rendition he had made to The Pledge of Allegiance!
Hope they replay if often!
