Welcome to the Bushbots! We are going to put up a Countdown to the Elections on here with your approval very similar to what we did for Countdown to Tax Cuts.

We need Freepers to Freep Mail me their key races so we can spotlight those races, get volunteers to help in them, and tell folks where they can donate. As Freepers we can make a difference in Taking Back the Senate and Keeping the House but we need everyone pulling the same wagon.

Last night I started telling the Bush bashers to vamoose off my threads because frankly I have had it when we are trying to do something positive for this Country.

Orrin Hatch was livid this morning about this ruling and placed the blame where it belongs on the daschle/leahy/two Senators from CA, et al that are holding up the judicial nominations. He also stated that Cranston, the former liberal RAT Senate, from CA is the one that pushed this Nixon appointee and because the RATS controlled the Senate by overwhelming numbers he had no choice to but to go along with it.

Time to give the Republicans back control of the Senate in numbers that so we can get an Agenda past. One of the things left out of the Education bill because of the RAT controlled Senate was more return of more control to local districts -- that is on the President's agenda for 2003 after we Take Back the Senate.

While you are at it when volunteering, tell your Senate candidates to support Senator Don Nickles (R-OK) for Senate Majority Leader when we Take Back the Senate. He is as conservative as they come and as witnessed recently not afraid to take on ms. clinton!

Thanks again Jim for putting up this Call to Arms!

Vote in a huge Republican majority so we can retake America from the liberals!

With all due respect, JimRob, do you really think electing a 'huge Republican majority' will help us fight liberalism? I mean, at their core, even the most ideologically sound politicians are still just that--politicians. It's one out of a hundred, regardless of party, that actually sticks to his guns once he makes it to Capitol Hill. I fear that electing a huge Republican majority at this juncture would result in a totally self-serving, pork-loving Congress, possibly worse than the one we've got right now. There's got to be a fundamental shift in the direction of the party before I'd trust us with that kind of power. Right now, I believe it would be wasted.

We must have Reaganesque landslides!

And therein lies the problem. To have a Reaganesque landslide, you need a Reaganesque candidate. The RNC/NRCC/NRSC, as far as I can tell, does not plan to support that type of candidate in 2002. The best we can do is lobby the leadership to get behind true conservatives in the primaries, and hope that some go all the way in November. It's worthless to have a 26-seat majority if they're all RINOs. Sure, you'll get some conservative economic policy once in a while, but the social issues we all care so deeply about will be largely ignored or worse.

I understand where you're coming from, and it's fine with me if you're a Bush-bot. I hope it's okay with you if I'm not. (I like him, I just can't support all of the decisions he makes, no matter how "strategic.") I do hope FR will continue to be a place where debate can take place, even the kind that may not be so favorable toward our fearless leader. :) If not, that's fine, it's your website...but I sure would miss it.

Do you know if and when this is going to be further appealed to a higher court? I hope it will be soon. Also, I'm going to be in D.C. soon. What say we all get our Freep on, and let the world know what we think of this unconstitutional ruling?

I love my country and I love my freedom more than life itself. I don't care what anyone says about me, or what labels they pin on me. From this day forward I am a Bush-bot and proud of it! I am going to help turn this thing around or I'm going down in flames trying.

The liberal activist judiciary has tested the waters. If America does not wake up and not only say no, but hell no to this abomination, then what will the emboldened court take next? Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not gonna sit around on my butt doing nothing while we find out.

Let me say one other thing Mr. Robinson.

I know you are using the word 'liberal' in the sense that it is the common usage for describing what we here know to be the left wing.

These people are as far from being 'liberal' in any classic sense of the word.

They are totalitarians, ruling by fiat; stuffing the courts with like minded drones who will legislate whatever they see fit from the bench.

Might I ask how many here would have no problem with a child reciting the Pledge, while revising to fit their religion...(under Allah, under Buddha, omitting that phrase altogether, whatever)?

And how many honestly believe that child's beliefs would be respectfully honored in the 'public school' environment?

To draft a Constitutional Amendment requiring recital, in this current form, would be a travesty; and the ruling is proper, if it only bars mandatory recitation. If anyone wishes to voluntarily recite the Pledge, more power to them. If I want to (as someone did earlier in the thread) post here, "God Bless America.", I can do that; but to require attendance, and require and/or enforce recitation, would be contrary to the intent of the Constitution.

Would I be thrown out of the Supreme Court, or Congress, were I to refuse to close my eyes and bow my head during their morning prayer? If so, that, too, would be a mockery of the individual liberty the Constitution is designed to protect.

Interesting message to ponder Jim.

As for the liberal university thing, one way to protest this is just by not sending one's kids to a public university. Private Universities, especially Christian ones, are well worth the extra money.

The liberals are using the Senate now like the Mafia used certain union positions in NY. They found ONE (1) position (I think it was zippers, the zipper fitters.. funny as that sounds.) that could bring the whole factory to a standstill. That's exactly what they are doing to our judiciary and THAT'S enough reason to vote for Dubya.

Personally, I hope all this unconservative garbage we see from the administration has it's roots in an attempt to buy back our damn Senate. And while I may not agree with the methods, it's impossible to argue with the motive.

The most critical thing conservatives need to do right now is to elect Bill Simon.

This does not require a Constitutional amendment. Don't you all understand that the 9th Circuit Court has finally dealt a death blow to judicial activism if this is just handled with Clarity (and maybe by Clarity).

This ruling finally got me to realize why this judicial activism has been happening and how to stop it. The ridiculousness of this ruling helps nail it.

The court did not rule on any law. They were ruling on Community practice which is not in the purview of the Court. The Courts may rule on the Constitutionality or Unconstituionality of a Law but only Congress or state legislatures may pass laws. No law was passed here to require the recitation of the Pledge.

It is simply community practice which is a power retained by the People and outside the Courts jurisdiction. So just use the Constitution as is and call me in the morning. If this is done judicial activism should come to a screaching halt or atleast be regularly reversed. Don't fall victim to the liberal knee jerk reaction. "There ought to be a law."

P.S. Do call your Reps and Senators and tell them to formally request by Resolution that the Supreme Court immediately take up and reverse the 9th Circuit Courts decision.

Well said oh fearless leader!

It's great that you've come out of the political closet, so to speak and thrown your full and unconditional support behind President Bush and Republican candidates for this coming fall elections. I can't disgaree with one word you wrote Jim and again welcome you onboard in support of President Bush. He's a fine man and a good American. He needs everyone's support.

Conservatives, Republicans, independents and others who are opposed to the liberal social policies of the Democratic Party, should join all those who love America and vote these leftwing bastards out of office.

Jim, you are SOOOO right! If this doesn't stress the importance of the fall elections, I don't know what does. Freepers, we are a powerful force when united for a cause. Let's work together to make sure the Republicans gain control of the Senate in November 2002!

United we will stand! God bless America!
