Geez Jim.

I am sitting here reading through this and anticipating that you would've had the requisite address' and phone Numbers in order to begin a FReep of "Biblical proportions" at the end of the post.

Ahhh you lemme down.

Joe Farah disagrees with you. Appeals or protests won't sway the liberals and socialists who are in power. The best thing to do is to pull out your children from the government schools and let those who want their children to be brainwashed in the tenets of socialism, atheism, and mindless political correctness have the government schools. The rest of us can send our children to private schools or if we can't afford to do that, to home school them. Where the future of our country is concerned, let's send the establishment and the public school system a message --- with our feet. Its the only way to take back our country.

This is just another attempt by the self-righteous extreme liberals (and liberal judges) to tell the majority of Americans how they can run their lifes. It is all a power and control game. The liberals say that the majority has to respect their views and be tolerant. Yet the liberals are not tolerant when it comes to telling the majority how to run their lifes. To remove the words "one nation under God" would be disrespecting the majority of Americans who at least believe in a supreme being. Nobody is telling anyone which god you have to worship, but the majority of Americans comprising nearly all religions believe in a supreme being which watches over us (be it Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buhddist, etc.). By removing the phrase "one nation under God", the rights and beliefs of the majority is again being squashed and ignored for the benefit of the extreme minority. How many objections in this country does it take to over rule the rights of the majority in this nation of millions --- just one extreme winer or wacko with too much time and money on their hands...or does it take ten or a hunderd, a thousand.

The rights of the minority are not being violated --- is his daughter forced to recite the pledge --- is someone taking notes on who actually says the pledge, is someone taking notes on who does not know the pledge, is someone taking notes on who is reciting the full pledge in its entirity --- and again is anybody humiliating anyone who does not fully comply? Of course, not.

The pledge is recited in respect and admiration of this country and its freedoms --- even the freedom of the vast minority to try to trample the rights of everyone else. However, the courts are not supposed to make up new laws and riduclous new interpretations of the constitution and our laws not based on reality or common sense. This wacko actually said that he fears for his life and family --- he has a security system. In many other countries, he would not even have the right to protest --- their security systems are 9 mm silencers used by Fidel and his likes around the world.

The pledge is recited to also show respect for the sacrifice of others before us and currently to put their lives at risk to defend our freedoms and at times lose them in defense of our freedoms and way of live. These judges don't even respect that. They should be removed they are obviously either senile, mentally unstable, or just don't even know enough about the intent of our legal system to be judges.

This will be overturned, but it is time for the majority of Americans to put an end to the constant assault on our beliefs and traditions by the power hungry liberals. The additional drain on our legal system and monetary resources which could be either productively used or (more productively) returned to the taxpayer directly. Tom Dashle and company are directly to blame for this now. Tom and the others in the (DNCs --- Deviates 'n criminals)should quit blocking Bushes appointments to the federal courts --- they were the biggest winers when even the totally wacko extremists of Clinton's judicial appointments were debated or blocked (not even the majority of his appointments). Power politics by the rats again.

The elections are coming, and it is more than time to fix the rat blockage of the Senate.

Man who sued to stop pledge explains reasons for suit (06-26) 17:42 PDT ELK GROVE, Calif. (AP) --

Sacramento atheist Michael Newdow said Wednesday he was trying to restore the Pledge of Allegiance to its pre-1954 version because no one should be forced to worship a religion in which they don't believe.

But if the threatening messages on his answering machine are any indication, the American public is not thanking him.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Wednesday the phrase "one nation under God" amounts to a government endorsement of religion in violation of the separation of church and state and can no longer be recited in schools.

If I could remember the freeper names of those atheists who were quizzing you the other day about no religion-bashing, I'd ping them.

Well said Jim. I would like to add that voting for third party candidates will not get the job done.

Thanks for the post JimRob.

I agree completely with you and have done most of what you already suggested. The only thing I have not yet done is contact my Senators. I think I was hunting for the right inspiration on how to approach them. You gave that to me.

I also agree that we want to elect conservatives not rinos. In my state, Kansas, we have had a rino in the Governor's mansion for 8 years now. He can not run this time (thankfully), but the GOP has 2 rinos and one true conservative running. I am backing the conservative, not the rinos. We have to take back this country now, and we have to be vigilant to do it the correct way. I see no use in voting for a rino when there is a perfectly good conservative on the ticket.

Just a few of my thoughts, and I will be writing my Senators. I am sure they agree on this issue, but they may appreciate knowing that I agree with them.

It does us no good for conservatives to sit on their hands or to vote third party.

Amen to that, Jim! We don't have the luxury anymore (if we ever actually did have it). You can't wait to find the candidate that you agree with 100%. If you do, you'll get someone you agree with 0% of the time.

Two years ago, Michael Newdow, a Sacramento doctor who holds a law degree and represented himself, sued because his second-grade daughter was compelled to listen to her classmates recite the pledge at the Elk Grove school district....

"Many people who are upset about this are people who just don't understand," Newdow said Wednesday during an interview at his suburban Sacramento home. "People have to consider what if they were in the minority religion and the majority religion was overpowering them."

Newdow said he sued the school district and Congress, among others, in an effort to restore the pledge to its pre-1954 version.

"Congress never intended to force people to worship a religion that they don't believe in" when they added the words "under God" to the pledge, he said.

-----

There you have it. She 'saw' it, and 'listened' and that 'violated her rights'...her 'listening' was equated with 'forced worship'...

If I go to Rome, I expect to see and hear from some Catholics. I might be a minority, but since when does that infringe on my rights? Never. At worst I will come away better educated.

Nobody can be a minority...ever.

They are offended by the presence of anyone who believes in religion. Even at that, this is not an overtly religious statement. This violated the basic principles of tolerance that the US was founded upon.

I am not Jewish, but I can go into the home of a Jew any time and have a nice dinner and not be offended one bit!

Lets vote for the most conservative option we have until the liberals are gone. Then we can argue the details with the moderates!

We will never get there at all if we just scoop up our marbles and stomp off in a huff!
