Probably Sen. Jesse Helms. He is recovering from his heart surgery.

All this is nice and good, but it means nothing from a legal standpoint. Only a higher court or a constitutional amendment can reverse this idiot. Otherwise, a resolution has about as much standing as Yassir Arafat's "condemnation" of suicide bombers.

But you know as well as I do that many of those senators are secretly cheering inside. Hillary, Daschle, Boxer, Cantwell, Stabenow and the other ultra-liberals are overjoyed.
They know if they say anything in public that they will never be reelected, so they are waiting for the anger over this to subside. Because after all the anger is done, unless the decision is overturned, it still stands, and they get what they want anyway.

The U. S. Senate has condemned the Ninth Circuit Court's ruling on the Pledge of Allegience by a 99-0 margin. Look at 'em, trying to head off an electoral debacle of Biblical proportions (literally) at the pass...

In Massachusetts, the Governor made an appointment to the Supreme Court a woman from Afica that's only been in America for two years,
made her the Chief Justice on the Massachusetts Supreme Court.

Or Jesse Helms who is still recovering from heart surgery.

I enjoy reading "old" books and such -- and it is truly amazing how much things have changed over the years. I'm sure you've heard the proper way to boil a frog.
But the old textbooks are a great read, along with Old Farmers Almanac, the World Book and other encyclopaedias prior to about 1970, this was before all the political correct commie pinko crap started infiltrating our precious bodily fluids on a major scale.

All this is nice and good, but it means nothing from a legal standpoint.True, but the real "juice" in this story is the public debate it will ignite. The Pledge is part of all our childhoods. It will flush the atheistic lib's hidden agenda out from the darkness into the light just as 9/11 did with "inclusion" and moral relativism.
I think this is a huge gift with a pretty bow to conservatives. This is definitely a pitch we can hit out of the park. This is the kind of thing that can turn an election in a big way.

Actually, I assumed it was Senator Jesse Helms. I know he had been recovering from an operation a month ago. (God Bless him and a Speedy Recovery, Jesse)

This is just a formal b*itch slap is all.
The 9th circuit will just say "Hit me Baby One More Time" like they always do.

"Now, if we can just make this type of ruling an issue in the campaign, we can hoist the Dems over their petard. The pledge once worked against Dukakis. Maybeit can work against the Senate Dems." I think it's an outstanding issue. The table has already been set by administration and Republican complaining about Daschle/Leahy obstructionism. This decision destroys the argument that the Dims are blocking "extremist" Republican judges by showing the country that it's the Dim judges who are extremists and we need Bush's judges to restrain them! It's a wonderful issue.

S00OO, they, the Dems, will come out lukewarm in opposition to the Circuit Court ruling. BUT, NOT strong enough to annoy their liberal base, but strong enough to be registered as an angry vote, so they are on record as going along with the Republicans and ergo not subject to being politically attacked.
watch them, this is exactly how they have nervously and urgently strategized it over the last few hours in D.C.... they will be right in the middle of the road on this one.

Walk the talk - pass an Amendment. Otherwise just BS.

What recourse do we have against justices who, enthroned for life, usurp power to fasten their soppy opinions on society?
They too can be impeached, and have been. But first we have to elect some representatives that have a backbone.

This has absolutely nothing to do with GOD or religion. This is a frontal attack on the "Republic"! The traitors continue their unrelenting advance on the Republic by smokescreening their real goal and desires. We are a duly constituted Republic not a democracy as they so desparately seek! Give em a one way ticket to Cuba, China or North Korea for starters; plenty more dead end paradises that are too good for this bunch!
