Requiring children to recite it in public schools is unconstitutionalI repeat, nobody in America is forced to recite the pledge of allegiance. However, many of us have sworn oaths to defend the nation from enemies, both foreign and domestic.
Something tells me the left is going to rue this day.

When a public schoolteacher - a representative of the gov't - stands before a class and leads them in a recital of the Pledge of Allegiance, the gov't is indeed indoctrinating children in a religious belief (i.e. "under God") without their parents' approval or the approval of the taxpayers, many of whom may not be religious.
If the words "under God" hadn't been added to the pledge in the first place, or if those words were removed, there wouldn't be a problem.
