Rush Comes Out Swinging; Blames Wall Street Woes on Clinton's "Decade of Fraud and Deceit"
The Rush Limbaugh Show

Rush opened his show with a lengthy discussion (still ongoing) of the Wall Street situation. He reminded us how the liberals loved to call the 80's the "decade of greed." The 90's, he said, should be called "The decade of fraud and deceit," and he attributed the mess to Clinton and company. Among other things, he spoke of the hubris of the Clinton gang, who bragged how they had "defeated the business cycle;" yet, as the Bible points out, "there will be seven good years and seven lean years." (My paraphrasing.)
Rush was also utterly appalled at the gall of Gephart (whom he referred to as "that little bug-eyed sleaze"), blaming this downturn on Republicans, George W. Bush, and even Ronald Reagan. Rush insisted he will not let them get away with this, and will continue to lay this right at Clinton's doorstep, "where it belongs." ("Who lied and manipulated numbers? Was it Reagan or was it Clinton?")
He also added that he is essentially an optimist and has no doubt that "we will eventually replace corrupt people with decent people." He said it is important to "look for the good in things," and credited the Bush administration with promising to investigate these matters.
He is really pounding, and pounding hard. Promises to be a good show. Say it, Rush!

Here's a thread for those of us who still respect and admire Rush. (Holding my breath and hoping it can stay positive...)

I think Rush must follow FR because I remember seeing some of those comments on here a couple of days ago.

Holding my breath with you -- thanks for starting the post.

Of course he FReeps. After all, doesn't everyone? ;-)

Agreed. I listen to Rush more for the laughs and callers these days. I admire the man very much and think he has done much for conservatism in America today, however, most of his show is stuff I already read on FreeRepublic 3 or 4 days earlier. This is the best spot for information anywhere!

Four years ago you could follow the content of Rush's program by the posts on FR. Apparently he was silently following the news items on this site to format his comments.

I was thinking the same thing.
It's the economy stupid and Clinton is good for the economy etc....
Turned out it was all a house mirrors.
To: truthkeeper
Of course he FReeps. After all, doesn't everyone? ;-)If they're sane.
To: RLK
I've also heard him use some....ah...euphemisms we use when describing the liberals/dims.
To: truthkeeper
The national economy has bee slowly declining over a period of nearly 30 years. Contrary to assertion, the economy never made a complete recovery from the disastrous '90-95 dip.

If FR was only open for 3 hours a day, with commercial breaks and not open on the weekends the content on here would be limited and older stuff would have to be hashed and rehashed.
Of course Rush visits FR and gets some material from here. But i find it to be dishonest of people when they pick on Rush for talking about a topic that FR covered this morning. Well guess what geniuses, Rush wasnt on at 9 AM this morning, he had to wait till noon to say his first word.
To: RLK
You must know very little about economics.
To: truthkeeper
will continue to lay this right at Clinton's doorstep, "where it belongs." Sic'em, Rush.
I would be interested to know the voter registration ratio of Reps. to Dems. in the executives, board members and mid-mgmnt at Enron, Global Crossing, etc. I predict 75% democrat, mid to top execs.

Rush is irrelevant, not because his assessment is wrong, but because he's preaching to a choir that already knows that the economic downturn and the fraud and corruption that has paralled that downturn didn't begin the day that George Bush took over the Oval Office. The problem is that Rush doesn't have the balls to regularly appear with the talking heads from the mainstream media and debate these issues with the Katie Colons of the world or to regularly invite pundits from the talking head circuit on his show. As a result his thoughts, no matter how true, rarely extend beyond his target market, which is the very people who already know that eight years of Bill and Hillary are a major of cause of the curent economic situation.

Ummm, I didn't mean to start a fight with you. I said that I admire rush very much. However, Free Republic is a much quicker and thorough source of information. That's a fact. However, I am still a loyal Rush listener as I stated in my post. I don't get where I am being dishonest by simply stating a fact. goodness we're touchy.

I have heard him discuss this, and he asserts that he is rarely - if ever - asked to appear on the mainstream shows. I have seen him on the Russert cable show however, and he does let loose when given the chance.
To: truthkeeper
He also stated that he has sound clips from this mornings cat fight between Katie and Ann.
