I have heard him discuss this, and he asserts that he is rarely - if ever - asked to appear on the mainstream shows. I have seen him on the Russert cable show however, and he does let loose when given the chance.

This may be too much for his well-deserved ego, but most of the pundits don't sit around waiting to be asked to appear with the talking heads. They have publicists who are contantly pushing the names of their clients until they become household words, and only then after repeated appearances are they "invited" on the show. In other words, in many cases the pundits ask to be on the show rather than waiting to be asked.
I would like to see Rush on TV a lot more, not because he has any special expertiese in economics or foreign affairs, but as a Republican/Conservative counter-weight to Carville & Company
