(Vanity) Explain to me why it's "OK" for Israel to have settlements on The West Bank?

This is an honest question, no offense towards anyone is intended...
I won't try to claim I'm any kind of scholar on the subject of Isreal Settlements but I have done a bit of research on the subject. Yet, one question still remains...
I can't justify the Isreal Settlements in The West Bank and Gaza...In my own mind, anyway...
As far as I can tell, Isreal officially justifies these settlements based on the fact that they lay claim to Gaza and the West Bank due to defeating Arab aggressors in the 1967 war. And, Isreal is still technically at war with some Arab states so they can continue occupying these areas...
What I don't understand is how they justify the settlements. Occupation is one thing (Based on protecting themselves against an aggressor) but settlements are something completely different (In my opinion, anyway).
If anyone can educate me, I know Freepers can. And as a bonus, if anyone can supply information or sources on how the Palestinians "See Things", that would be great. (In the spirit of "Two sides to every story").

Why do you think so many Jews remain in the West rather than move to Israel so their superior numbers can overwhelm the Palestinians?I just heard or read the other day that there are only about 15 million Jews in the world (From a reliable source that I can't remember). I found that interesting. And much less than I had ever assummed. Maybe that's why they don't move there...Just not enough of them.
And I don't think the Palistinians are "Animals" (Terrorists are, of course). To say so is racist, I think. They may be poorly educated, backwards and victims of religous based disinformation but they're still human like me and you.

We did take Cuba once-- we won it in the Spanish-American War. But we didn't really want it, so we cut it loose, keeping Gitmo Bay for a military base. Same with the Phillipines, BTW.

And when you are ready to be a MAN and speak to what you truly believe in (even if it is contemptuously wrong), then maybe I'll think about respecting you.
You still didn't answer. It was a question that can only be credibly answered with a "yes" or a "no." All you did was walk between the rain drops.
And I ain't your brother.

How about them?

How do you justify the United States having settlements on the west coast?
Politics is power. We are a nation from sea to shining sea because we wanted to be a nation from sea to shining sea, and we didn't let political correctness or a bunch of Indians or Mexicans keep us from our goal.
Now that we have it, do you think we ought to give it all back?

If you can identify a few Palestinians who have affirmed their humanity, I'd be glad to reconsider. They could stand up tomorrow and declare their nationhood and organize a standing army instead of brainwashing teenagers to strap plastic explosive to themselves. I'm not holding my breath.

I was interested in how the hell we have a base in the only remaining commie haven a while back and discovered that peice of information...

For the moment, they demand the US stop supporting Israel (which coincides with your position).
They also demand Israeli lands for a second Palestinain state (Jordan was the first).
Then they will demand ALL Israeli lands, both politically and later by warfare (as they have done repeatedly).
Finally, far in the future, they will demand that the US become a religious Islamic state, and they will behead those who oppose them or refuse conversion (as they do in other nations).

If you can identify a few Palestinians who have affirmed their humanity, I'd be glad to reconsider.I'm quite sure we could literally identify a "Few". So please reconsider. Or at least consider tempering your comments about all of them being "Animals". It's not helpful and makes me feel embarrassed to be a fellow Freeper. That's just my opinion and thoughts, of course.

How about you just admit to being a preachy, assumming DICK? That's 3 times. Profanity is not allowed on this forum, in case you didn't know. Says more about you than anyone else.

Right on. The Founders never imagined that the government would take dollars from its citizens by force and give them to a foreign nation.
They also demand Israeli lands for a second Palestinain state (Jordan was the first). Then they will demand ALL Israeli lands, both politically and later by warfare (as they have done repeatedly).
This has nothing whatsoever to do with you or me. The Palestinians occupied every square inch of Israel prior to 1948 with no consequence whatsoever to U.S. interests.
Finally, far in the future, they will demand that the US become a religious Islamic state, and they will behead those who oppose them or refuse conversion (as they do in other nations).
Who told you that? The Psychic Hotline? Guess I better go run and hide in my bunker for fear of the Union of Socialist Socialist Republics. Maybe someone better alert the Coptic Christians in Lebanon and Iraq about this terrible danger.

"We should be in control of Japan."
We were in control of Japan. General MacArthur wrote their Constitution for them. Then we let them try it on their own, and they did OK so we left.

Hey Einstein, ever hear of Sirhan Sirhan?
To: Johnny Shear
Johnny, it ain't my fight. It makes no difference to me whether a sliver of land on the Western coast of the Mediterranean is occupied by the descendants of Joseph (from Abraham to 70 A.D. and since 1948 A.D.) or the descendants of Ishmael (who have lived there from Abraham).

I have. Why did he allegedly assassinate the likely Democratic candidate for president in 1968? He denied it from the beginning and to my knowledge never declared for the Palestinian cause. If he did, it simply proves my point: terrorist attacks targeting U.S. citizens did not begin until the U.S. plunged hip deep into the region.

You can wade across the Rio Grande for all but the last few miles near the mouth. The idea is not so much actual as symbolic. Besides, it looks nice on a map.
In actuality, from a military standpoint, rivers are barriers, even if they are not.
(As an aside, Antietam Creek, in Sharpsburg, WV, is no more than waist deep all through the battlefield. On Sept. 17th, 1862, it was treated as all but impassable by both Union and Confederate armies. Not all armies are smart.)
To: SteamshipTime
I don't recall a single Muslim terrorist attack targeting U.S. citizens prior to the 1970's
How about Sirhan Sirhan's assassination of Bobby Kennedy. Lemme think...where was he from....oh yeah, PALESTINE.
To: droberts
Should stop sending them to those countries too. So why bring up Israel? Why not say "Stop all foriegn aid"?
To: SteamshipTime
If he did, it simply proves my point: terrorist attacks targeting U.S. citizens did not begin until the U.S. plunged hip deep into the region. And the Germans didn't start sinking our ships until we moved them into the Atlantic. You remind me of the people who lock themselves in their homes so the criminals won't bother them.
