With the Marine Corps at its greatest buildup then, for Korean combat, Women Marines freed men for their primary role - to protect our Republic and its ideals.

Hi Sam, I will be going to stay at my in-laws for over a week, I'll keep you posted from there how things are going.
To: SAMWolf
Yay, Sam! Whew! Looks like you are finally "set free from grounded," as my youngest used to say...Welcome home!

SICK! SICK! SICK! SICK! SICK!
What a son of a b*****. I have been very upset since I heard this news and have offered several prayers. I haven't contacted Teacup yet, but I will. I almost hate to bother her. I'm sure she is upset and busy.
You know what Lodwick...they'll catch him. The baby will make it home, I just have this feeling.

Tom, that is a wonderful recap!
Yes - I honestly remember it as a Privileged Generation, with fewer distractions.
It was a more grounded, realistic time, coming after the War we remembered well - we were not spoiled and pampered and showered with unlimited 'things.'
Playing meant get outdoors and MOVE activities, and using our imaginations, and listening weekly to The Inner Sanctum on the radio in the DARK!
We were not bombarded as children are today with things not suited for young ones on television and in print.
Thanks, Tom, for the reminder to be thankful.....

I think it's gonna take a day or two for everyone to get back to a "normal" routine, but it sure feels good right now.
The Oregon Air National Guard escort I arranged informed me that the IL's plane has cleared Oregon air space without incident.

Where did that come from? LOL What a nice thing to say...you made my day. I love you very much! I'm going to FReepmail you later, but my kids need me and I've sat here too long. We were going to go squeeze some play time in before it started raining again but it looks like I might have waited too long. ((((hugs))))

Plus she looks great in that slinky "spy" outfit!

Dear M_M, at the USO Dance, the one with you was among THE most memorable!
You were SO gracious in accepting the requirement we had to do 26 laps of the dance floor before swaying to a sentimental one!! - LOL
You were even brave enough to not allow my son, MedProf, to cut in.
(I saved the dance card with your special signature..:)))

Thank you both very much. This is really LadyX' day here, but you're sweet to wish me a happy birthday.
Congratulations and thank you for 50 wonderful Marine years, Maggie.
