Hello everyone. Well it's true, our grandson #4 is missing. He is with his father somewhere in North Carolina. He left with Baby Billy last Monday, June 17th. After he was gone, he informed my daughter he was filing for a divorce and sole custody. HUH??? They had been having problems, and at marriage counseling, decided to be apart for 2 days to think thing out. He said he'd watch the baby for the 2 days, while my daughter could get some down time at her best friends home. She had been under a lot of stress lately, due to him being unemployed for 13 months. (Long story).
Well apparently, who knew what he had planned? He took off with the baby. She has filed for an emergency custody order giving her custody until the case can go to divorce court. Even with this in play, still no baby.
We suspect he knows about the court order, but still refuses to return the baby. There is a question regarding his state of mind. All I know is there is a 2 year old, who needs his mommy and sibblings. He is very close to them and one can only imagine how the baby is doing.
He has called only once to say the baby is fine and with friends.(??????)
Good Lord, who knows who and where.

OK, phone call from my daughter right now, 8:45 PM, Monday night. Seems they have a lead. The sheriffs are going out there now. Please pray extra hard!

Put sneakypete on the trail!
This troubles me greatly. My prayers are sent for the child's safety and return.

Good luck on all of this.
We went through a parental abduction with my (now) ex-wife's first husband - couldn't get help anywhere. Good to see that law enforcement is doing what they're supposed to do.

He has called only once to say the baby is fine and with friends.(??????) Teacup, this sounds to me like a "normal" child custody situation, with both the mother and the father wanting the child. The fact that he called to say the baby is fine and with friends implies to ME that his mental state may not be as desperate as has been implied. It does nobody any good to paint the father as "armed, mentally unstable, and dangerous" unless that is truly the case. In fact,it can backfire and produce a dangerous situation where none now exists.
I'm asking you to think this over carefully before you post any more about the father's mental condition. Unless he has made physical threats it does more harm than good. I know you are emotional and scared now yourself, but so is he.

Post his last known auto, model, color, year, ( any obvious damage on it) with lic plate #, Also he last known employment.
Has he a check coming soon? Get his SS# if possibility. Turn it over to the FBI! Give them his last or current girlfriend, and best
friend-s address, and phone #. Has he a prior criminal record, if so when??
Is he on parole? Does he have family out of town, if so where...have police contact next of kin in the area. Does the boy or
dad, require any medication, if so what, did he leave it behind...call the info into one of the closes RX location. and contact
prescribing Dr.

Happened to me twenty years ago. In NYS there were no laws at that time that had any teeth. I had to search for my son on my own. It took 26 months but I found him.
If the laws that exist now existed then the ordeal would heve been over in weeks or days, not years. This is on your side.
There is no describing the hell it feels like. Only prayer and an absolute unwillingnes to give up, even for a second, will win the day.
You have my sympathy and my prayers. Most of these parental kidnapping issues resolve well. Hold on to that.
