Dear [Mini-14]:

Thank you for your recent communication regarding H.R. 1460, the Second Amendment Rights Protection Act.  I appreciated hearing from you.

I support the Second Amendment for law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms.  Legitimate sportsmen and women should not be denied the rights guaranteed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution.

I do not support outlawing hand guns, but I do support sensible measures like trigger locks, waiting periods, and a ban on cop killer bullets that threaten the lives of law enforcement officers.  Such measures reinforce the positive role of law-abiding citizens who wish to protect their homes with a firearm.  I also support new and innovative technology, such as "Smart Gun" technology, which ensures that only law abiding gun owners may user weapons.

etc., etc., etc.

Sincerely,

Mark Steven Kirk
Member of Congress

Myself, I dip all my bullets in radioactive vampire blood.

MUCH more effective than those wussy cop-killer bullets.

The orginal so call cop killer bullets were the KTW what they were is a steel teflon coated bullet that was a police only item. That was suppose to be used when the crooks were wearing armor Or in cars ect. The teflon was used as a jacket to protect the barrel from the steel bullet. The reason the go thru soft armor is that they are very hard and being steel they are lite and you can shoot them at higher VEl. If you all don;t know this type of bullet is allreay illegal to make or sell. This rhino just wants some free press.

So I'm curious as to how this technology works. How exactly are the bullets able to figure out who's a police officer and who isn't? Does it read the badge?

If a "smart" gun means haveing to put batteries in it, then I dont want one.

I'm with you on that one, unless it's a plasma, laser or particle beam handgun.

Perhaps Congressman Kirk can combine his ban on "cop killer" bullets with a "smart" gun. The combination would be able to differentiate "good" cops which uphold the law, and "rogue" cops who burglarize your house at night.

With this super combination, your gun would only be able to shoot bullets at "rogue" cops, but not the "good" cops.

"What exactly is a "cop killer" bullet? "

The gun control advocates originally defined cop killer bullets as teflon coated bullets caliming they would more easily penetrate body armor. Some have now tried to extend that definition to ordinary hollow points.

It is well known that body armor is effective at stopping handgun bullets and in particuliar the hollow points. However, none is very effective at stopping rifle bullets.

To manufacture your own "cop killer" bullets. Take ordinary flat nose, hollow point, or full metal jacket bullets and drill into the nose with a 3/16" drill. Press a steel BB into the hole. Seal with wax to keep the BB in place and provide lubrication. The outer bullet will separate the kevlar or fiber glass from the resin matrix, and the lubricated BB with travel through.
